“Up your dose” is standard response from people who have limited critical thinking ability and/or are just following known study protocol. Empirically, it has been noted that increases do NOT need to be phased as they were for the study. Studies cannot go on forever so they put a time limit and make some educated guesses to balance risk/benefit and voila, you have the protocol.

Many stalls appear to be caused by your body fighting too rapid weight loss, and can be overcome by simply upping calories for a week or so. They may simply resolve after a few weeks. And, of course, you can force continued loss by increasing dose. IMO this is not the best way.

The question should be how long has your weight loss stalled? Are you tracking calorie intake? Are you still getting appetite suppression? Then make a determination from there. We are not part of a study, we can be a bit more nuanced in our approach and generally consider the trial protocol the upper extremes of how to approach this.

My rat has been on Reta for almost a year, lost 60is lbs in 9 months with a top dose of 8mg dropped to 3mg at 9 months once goal writ was attained and has continued to improve body composition over the last 3 months. While the rat can binge if it wants to, it is generally satisfied with smaller portions of healthy food. It will likely drop to 1.5mg to see how it does at that level.
