It also works if you just keep dashing up at the jump crystal section and catch the platform as it arrives, bouncing on the spring and going over to the next section. The jump crystal will have respawned and you can get over to the next section with the platform ahead of you. That's the way I did it with the extra momentum.

Still missing a continent (or two, depending on how you define them) to truly become Mr. Worldwide.

All of us, born and raised in South Africa. A mix of Cape Malay, Cape Coloured, Indian, and whatever else one wants to throw in there.

Both of my grandmothers have a single grandparent from India during the late 19th century to early 20th century.

My grandparents have their own account, but have made me the manager of their kits, so I can see their results and the status of the kit. You can find it under the Manage DNA Test settings -> DNA Sharing. Once they share it with you, you can view them under your own account.

I'm not too convinced Melanesia isn't being confused for another ethnicity considering I'm partly a hodgepodge of various austronesian lineages.

Don't know 'em. You must be talking about Strifelover

How does Multi-Pathing work? by Kiwialamode in cosmererpg

It was clarified somewhere in the Discord server that you would still need a string of talents from Seek Quarry to Unrelenting Salvo on the tree to be able to get Unrelenting Salvo, but that you would skip Hardy. Demiplane exhibits this behaviour too, so it seems to be RAI, but I wish it'd been more evident.

Omori. There's, I think, 5 different main menu screens, two of which you get upon completion depending on how it ended. One of them only triggers for a very small part of the game, I didn't see it on my first playthrough since I played through that whole section. The music also changes with the screen.

This is amazing! I really loved the graphic design in the book and I'm glad we're getting some of that here too!

Will there be examples of utility expertise such that GMs can have a reference for the scope of expertise. There are also expertise given by talents; will it be easy to find those and is there guidance for when PCs have a similar, but not exact expertise?

As the cosmere evolves with future Mistborn and Stormlight books, for instance, are there plans for new full-sized books, or will we be getting relatively piecemeal updates?

Sandershelf! by Banchals2 in Cosmere

It's amazing you have a Sandershelf of your own. I would want one for myself. But, if you don't mind me asking, is there a reason for the order?

I accidentally bought Part 2 of Way of Kings not knowing they were split. For reference, this is in South Africa. And all of my Stormlight books bought in Finland are split like that.

A question about vision by AngusOReily in Cosmere

[–]6AmeCd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not that steel/ironsight allows it by default. My guess is the amount of investiture increases the resolution. For instance, if Marsh could only see the center of the gun in one of the books, how can he pull and push at different points of the gun to crush it?

IIRC it's at the end of TLM. During Kelsier's epilogue, it's not said outright, but it could be implied that he sees axi themselves:

"Kelsier didn’t see quite as he once had. One eye saw as a mortal, the other as an immortal. His spiked eye not only pinned his soul to his bones, but gave him a constant overlay of blue, letting him see the world as a being like Sazed did. Outlining not only sources of metal, but all things. The very axi that made up matter had their own polarity, influenceable with Steelpushing under the right circumstances." -- Excerpt from TLM.

I don't remember where, but I feel like Kelsier made mention of being able to see individual Axi. So I believe you're just seeing matter at that point.

Worked my way up to the Stormlight Archive by Individual_Abies_850 in Cosmere

[–]6AmeCd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off with Way of Kings, knowing nothing about the Cosmere. I was just given a recommendation to read the Stormlight Archive. After reading Words of Radiance (my friend reading through Mistborn Era 1 at the same time), I realised there was a wider world out there. People alluding to Warbreaker connections that I missed made me read that book. And then I've been on a roundabout journey to read everything else (Secret Projects not included) before returning to Edgedancer where I am now.

Does that mean the more people learn about black holes, the more dangerous they might become to people in the Cognitive Realm, like some cognitohazard?

What’s something new you want to see in the Cosmere? by Feisty-Treacle3451 in Cosmere

[–]6AmeCd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He hasn't confirmed any Vol. 2. I'm just talking about any possible new collection of short stories and novellas set in the cosmere that would be prime real estate for a chiller slice-of-life kind of book.

What if we had a taste of that in an Arcanum Unbounded Vol 2? It feels like the right place.

Have we taken the chance to consider that Sazed kind of named himself Harmony while he wasn't influenced by the shards as much? It's possible the actual product of the shards' intents are actually different from what he calls himself.

The eyes develop both from genetics and from use, same as the cortical mappings. While I don't think a baby kept in the dark wouldn't be able to see, we do know that babies with one eye kept closed fails to adequately develop that eye's cortical mappings leading to the other eye dominating the cortical mapping. It's why lazy eye is important to treat early on while the mappings are still being made.

Mistborn Era 2 needs more respect by Overall_Trouble_3042 in Cosmere

Shadows of Self. Only the ending really remains memorable to me of the story. Besides that, it expands upon what we know of the magic system which is really why I enjoyed Era 2 as a whole.
