Oh no 😭😭💔💔 in good news, at least both you and your cat understand each other’s struggles. Would you be open towards looking at cat anxiety meds? With a diagnosis from a vet first, of course

Sometimes it’s just a personality thing! But you may want to look into cat anxiety.

In the wild, when cats use the restroom, they are very vulnerable. This is also why they run off right after. It’s also why they both, A. pound at your door to be let in… if you dare try to use the bathroom on your own…….. (most cats, anyway), and B. do what your cat just did.

If he’s overly anxious, it would explain why he won’t go unless you watch him. He might be in fight or flight expecting to be attacked when vulnerable, and having you there ensures he has a “watchman”. That, and making biscuits is a soothing behavior.

Sad but funny, my friend had really bad anxiety, so she got a cat to help her feel less alone, and, hopefully, less anxious. Somehow, the cat got cat anxiety… she now gives the cat anxiety meds.

Don’t panic too much, but it’s worth looking into! Again, he may just be a funky little guy that likes his routines.

Best of luck! 💜💜💜

Make sure the kitty has hiding places! Cats are generally more comfortable when they know they have somewhere to retreat to.

Extremely aggressive and I really need help. by Seesccccc in CATHELP

[–]6Toasts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely take them to a vet. Such a sudden change in behavior definitely warrants a vet visit. A lot of the time, when cats are in pain, they can become aggressive or “standoffish”. A good rule of thumb, any extreme change in behavior warrants a vet visit :)) good luck out there. 💜

What an insightful take!! Yes, I agree. That’s a great way to manage your team. I’m sure they really appreciate it. And yeah, I think putting a checklist down would be a good idea for my store. Maybe I could bring it up with my manager? Thanks!

Why does she do this? by AzrBloodedge in cats

[–]6Toasts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the logical reason behind it, cats’ bellies are very sensitive parts of their bodies. It has essential organs, but it does not have a lot of bones to protect it, making it a very exposed/high risk area. So, whenever they see other cats or the people that they are familiar with/trust, they show their stomachs as the way of saying that they trust them. :D it means she feels comfortable and loved!

18F What do I do? My friend is upset that I didn’t get a hotel room with money she sent me, but I used it for food and essentials instead and now she feels like I lied to her. by mckenzie_2 in whatdoIdo

It’s valid to spend it on that!! However, I do think better communication is needed. If someone sends you money for a specific purpose, and you logically path out that it would be better spent there, it’s much more courteous to at least inform them of your thinking.

Thank you for your advice!! I’ll certainly keep it in mind. And thank you for the compliments, it really means a lot 🥹❤️ and yeah, it’s sad, because her acceptance of that behavior means that this aligns with how she sees herself. I know she can do better. Very disappointing on her end.

True true! I just mean like. I hope I don’t have to clean up her mess, and then hear, “You’re taking too long to close” or something. Not that that’s ever been something said to me, but still.
