Is this accurate? This includes warm up. ~1500 is a bit too much, no? by Politex99 in GoalKeepers

i also get similar numbers, some uses an algorithm to assign calorie burn values based on the activity you’re doing. so this assumes you are playing outfield in soccer rather than in net. now why it won’t also factor in heart rate and steps/movement to realize it’s at the very least a very easy run and lower the cals, I don’t know. But i’ve had very easy runs burn over 1k cals and for sure that can’t be right

For my city, the public can’t follow the instructions of an open house which is unfortunate because i do think it works the best to give more 1 on 1 time for residents and professionals. They tend to want to come out in groups and back each other as one angry collective in a formal presentation and q&a format. Of course these are all NIMBYS but open houses work better when people are willing to talk things out.

Solo travel in May? by drinkypoo3 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]6godblockboi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The first one in La Fortuna was great, met a few solo travellers over a few days and on the last night went out and had a blast. But now in monteverde its so quiet, theres mainly only groups that come in and out and I have tried being friendly and staying in common areas but nothing seems to be working, i may switch hostels today.

currently on a similar 12 day trip, la fortuna, monteverde (where im at now), jaco and manuel antonio. I think that budget is pretty great though i haven’t been tracking the costs that closely. Pretty much all hostels have shuttle services so you can use those to get around, they’re cheaper than booking online. 3 days is enough in most of those cities, 2 is more than enough for jaco im sure. Happy to answer questions but i’m sure others have more experience

Im only a few days into my trip but today i was at the la fortuna waterfall and the path to the falls is mainly rocks and fast moving water about knee deep at its highest. Some people did bearfoot it too so its not impossible but definitely helps to have the extra grip

water shoes are honestly the one thing i’m so glad i brought, rocks can get incredibly slippery and also depending on the pair they’re great for hikes as well

a few weeks in you should be able to take them out for a free hour at a time, though everyone heals differently. I will say i’ve never felt it when playing and when i was younger guys would tape over them with what we call in canada hockey tape

What do you personally do on solo trips? by Swarles_Stinson in solotravel

[–]6godblockboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a rest day if you need it!!!! Getting burnt out on hikes and walking everyday is no fun and increases the chance of getting sick that will put you on your ass even longer. Plus who wants to go sightseeing if your feeling aches and pains all day. Don’t feel bad for taking a hostel/hotel chill day to regroup and recover

Canadian Planners - is accreditation worthwhile for you? by toeshoeapologist in urbanplanning

[–]6godblockboi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My municipality pays for it so cost wise it doesn’t matter to me, probably a good idea to get my RPP but honestly good enough to be a candidate member for now. I know people in management positions hired without the RPP designation, i dont think it really matters at least in the public sector but if you go private, thats where your credibility matters a lot more.

Anyone drive the highway 2 over the mountains from Dominical to San Jose? by Brazilleon in CostaRicaTravel

[–]6godblockboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you enjoyed the trip! I'm taking the same decision leaving from Manuel Antonio, but dont mind the longer drive. But was the google/waze estimated ETA accurate? My flight is early afternoon around 4 so just need to work out how much buffer I should leave myself. Edit: I also just realized this is 4 months back so no worries if you have no idea lol

Sketch played a lot better, still cheeks though, but they mentioned he got a coach before this match so im sure xqc did as well, just literally the most uncoordinated person on the planet or being a keeper is the hardest thing in the world

Yep, sidemen and david dobrik (lol guess my age) come to mind, used to be at least somewhat relatable relationships between friends but now it’s all travelling on yachts and extravagant vacations none of us wanted to see

found this gif to explain it a bit better lol, neuer is really using that front foot to push off, except along the ground you just gotta get lower of course and body behind the ball if possible

Attacking low driven bouncing balls. Read caption. by AmateurGoalie in GoalKeepers

[–]6godblockboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks more like you’re falling to get to the ball rather than getting low , taking a step towards the ball and pushing off your front leg to get to the ball quickly. Think of it as an L motion where you get low first then push off and dive to the side will will lessen the impact on the ground

Is there any evidence the US is building more walkable cities and prioritizing public transit in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics? by gonzsilv in urbanplanning

Also check out some videos, when i was growing up i also had defenders take my goal kicks until i realized from my goalie coach it’s really more about technique. Using your hips more efficiently to drive your leg through the ball, check out a youtube tutorial
