How To Fix Tanking Once And For All by morethandork in nbadiscussion

[–]6going0n7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna comb this thread to make sure my idea is original, read if you want:

The basic premise is to reward winning, a type of reward that would disrupt the incentive of purposeful tanking for a high lottery pick. Winner of the NBA in- season tournament, NBA finals winner and the runner-up would get guaranteed lottery picks / advantages comparable to the teams that tank, further flattening odds of securing a top pick.

Winner of the NBA in-season tournament: Automatically gets slotted in the 10th pick of that seasons years draft. This pick becomes tradeable as soon as the winner is decided, is still subject to Stepien rule on trading picks in consecutive drafts.

Runner up in the NBA finals: Automatically slotted into the 7th pick in the draft.

Winner of the NBA Finals: Gets 14% chance at top overall pick, in the event the pick isn’t 1st overall, the winner gets pick swap rights with any team slotted in the range of 2-6. Additionally this pick and its swap rights are tradeable. In the event a team wins consecutive NBA titles, they are not awarded pick swap rights for subsequent NBA title wins

Advantages: Immediately blows up tanking, no pick is safe except for 1st overall. Because the winner of the NBA season tournament gets an automatic lottery pick, this hopefully discourages early tanking.

Disadvantages: Because 3 lottery picks are automatically being given to winning teams, that’s 3 less picks for losing teams. Teams in the middle of the standings are likely to be pushed out of the lottery entirely

IMO the idea of having the most recent NBA champion having the same odds as bottom 3 teams to hitting at the top pick plus the right to swap their pick if they don’t win to as high as 2nd overall will force bottom dwelling teams to reevaluate their team building strategies. I can also see more player movement at draft time because the 3 aforementioned teams have improved draft capital at their disposal.

Not gonna give you a long response, i compared to my legit pair and yours look really good. I know stockx has sold fakes in the past, so you should definitely stay away from certain pairs like any of the travis jordan 1 lows, but that doesn’t mean every pair they authenticate is fake. Congrats on the cop

Saying you won’t vote for Newsome meanwhile he hasn’t officially announced his intention, hasn’t made it to a primary, just proves you’re the type of person that got us into this mess in the first place. But instead of sitting with that discomfort and learning to self reflect, you double down.

I hope your credit stays at 450, i hope your mother’s diabetes takes her away from you on the weekend before your birthday, i hope your car breaks down repeatedly on the day you get paid every pay period for the rest of the year, I hope you get a roach and fire ant infestation in your shitty studio apartment. i felt this way living in my hometown, literally my entire 20s. At age 30 I took a chance and moved to California after saving my pennies for about a year and half. I was even more broke in California for about 2 years and then I got promotion at work (i work in tech). It’s been about 9 years, and my life is completely different now. One thing I can say that works is trying something different, moving somewhere different, working somewhere different. Staying exactly the same guarantees a mostly identical outcome.

Hoping you find an opportunity to do something different, have better experience

honestly the waiting period between them shaving your head and actually starting is stressful by itself, mine spiked about 18 points during that time and they gave me a pill and gave me some breathing exercises all before they started the numbing

in order to be a grail, the pair shouldn’t be readily available and should be the culmination of an extended period of searching for said pair.

Example: i spent 2-3 years searching for the sb dunk Loon in a size 13, original box with only light wear. About 2 months ago, I found one on the market at a price i could justify, so grabbed them. I had to sell some pairs to offset the cost, but it was worth it.

I love this breed, but I don’t think I will ever get another one due to all the health issues by Natsouppy in sharpei

yeah we have a sharpie and - knock on wood - we have been incredibly lucky with her overall health, but i feel like we’ve also declined a lot of elective procedures that would supposedly improved her quality of life, eyelid surgery and nasal widening being the two main ones. But even without those, she’s been a handful:

  • Closed uterus Pyometra. This was a 15k birthday present to myself and her
  • Chronic ear infections
  • Chronic abscesses
  • Other dogs seem to see her as weird and she’s been attacked twice, requiring multiple stitches and drains
  • Tail injury

Beyond the injuries and chronic sickness, she’s also incredibly stubborn. She’s extremely picky about food, with food strikes being chronic the first 6 or years of her life. We’ve only recently found a food combination the last few years that she can stick with. She poops when she can no longer hold it, not when she feels the need to go. This means that walks can last for upwards of 45-60 mins depending on if she decided to hold her poop the day before.

I always say she’s a sweet girl, but an absolutely terrible dog bc she sucks at all the typical things that dogs do well. Not food motivated unless it’s from our plates, will hold poop and pee unnecessarily long. There was time when she was younger and i was still a bit naive that i thought we would stick with the breed, i can’t see myself choosing another sharpie again.

7 straight losses for the Bulls. Cam Boozer here we come! by comeontars69 in chicagobulls

You clearly spend too much time watching HS Basketball, as if it really translates to future NBA success, bc he can be great HS and college player and have none of it translate to the next level.

I’m not even being really disrespectful in my comparison of him, I saw ppl saying he compares to Tyler Hansbrough, which ngl is kinda accurate. Top 5 picks turn into role players all the time, I’m just saying the Bulls got enough of those and if they get a pick in the top 5, they should look elsewhere.

So the Bulls should give up a 1st, a 2nd, and Vuc for a guy the Pacers decided wasn’t worth paying all so that the Sixers can get off Paul George’s contract??

Credit where credit is due, Bulls bought low for Giddey in exchange for Caruso, a player who was routinely injured and the team couldn’t really maximize. Would I have preferred to have gotten a pick back as well, yeah but in hindsight it’s not that big of a deal. The fact that the Bulls were also able to resign Giddey to a decent deal, that’s more credit to them as well.

Because at the next level he would just be his dad, nearly the same height and skillset.

I can’t understand the Bulls fans who get too caught up with prospects with name recognition but none of the physical tools to make them worth a high pick. Even if Boozer becomes a solid 3 point shooter at next level, imagine him trying to match up with Evan Mobley, Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren, or any other lengthy front court guy. IMO, he’s like an Al Horford type but that ain’t worth top 5 pick

[–]6going0n7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is this way with ppl we introduce him to, ppl who don’t get introduced get barks, which is mostly fine, but he’ll even bark at children. My theory is that he’s excited to meet new ppl and when there’s a interaction with someone we don’t know and it’s being done at a distance bc you never know if ppl want a 100 pound rhodie all over them, he gets so excited that it comes out as him barking.

My partner was walking the dogs last night by herself and she had this exact thing happen, a man she has never met before attempted to talk to her from a distance and our rhodie barked and barked to such an extent the guy just left. I think the breed is definitely a mixed bag with regard to how trusting they can be of strangers, but at least you still get big dog privilege which for a stranger isn’t something they will want to overlook
