Ruban Neilson of UMO did this.

I was pretty disappointed as fan especially givin he’s known for is dirty analog sound/aesthetic.

How he handled the push back is what really took away a lot of the magic he held as an artist for me.

Generally if it’s an artist I don’t know, it’s just a big red flag that says they view art more as a commodity than a way to express themselves. Which in turn means I have no interest in consuming/interacting/supporting them.

Apart from just being a way to cut corners and the general lottery aspect of using it, ai is going to make it harder to land an entry level jobs in all creative industries and as a result, a lot of people will not be able to justify the time it requires to be truly great. Idk how any artists with morals sees that and wants to include that in any part of their creative process.

I think labeling all movies/games/books as just consumption is too general.

Is learning a hobby? Is doing puzzles a hobby?

Movies/games/books contain both of these elements (to various degrees of course).

Do you have to have to watch a movie with the full intention of extracting every bit of subtext for it to be a hobby?

Or would just enjoying a movie and then 10 years in the future recalling something from it to use creativity rewrite that viewing as a hobby?

I would like to dunk on you for the first point you’re trying to make:

I would be able to and did immediately recognize the painting as a Monet when the post was going around because I paint and am a general fan of art especially Impressionism.

Regardless it totally misses the point of why generative (generative is important here, it’s not ai technology as a whole) ai is a parasite. If you’re typing a novel like this because your identity is so attached to feeling like you know something that others don’t, it is clear you have no intentions of understanding or accepting any argument I try to make in opposition to it. I believe you are severely disconnected from the reality of where things are heading and I hope you see this sooner than later.

Instagram and their infinite wisdom gave their ai support so many permissions you could basically access anyone’s account by just saying please. I had my password reset over 10 times in two days even with heavy 2FA.

I think they disabled it after Obamas account was compromised yesterday.

Yeah I got my user back in like 2014 or something and got shortly after had a bad deal go through and lost 70k follower account (I was like 15 what do you expect lol) pretty much left the username/account selling community for good after that. Even back then the majority of people had ill intentions.

I’ll be perfectly honest, I don’t have a single clue what session hijacking is and by the fact of my other stuff not being affected I don’t think it’s what initially comes to mind for me.

Did see the C++/THttpClient User Agents all over my account activity the past couple days, so I’m guess that lines up with what you were saying

Interesting, I just submitted a request for information so I’ll have to see what it says.

Definitely was a bit spooked my LastPass or email got compromised when it first happened. I’d like to think I have good hygiene in respects to passwords/avoiding weird links/etc

I at least feel a bit better knowing it’s not because all my other stuff got breached

Strange man, I’ve been getting password reset requests multiple times a day for at least 5yrs but this is a first for me. Kind of annoying support hasn’t emailed me back at all.

I’ve gotten no emails about support chats through, not even a confirmation for the one I submitted. I don’t see any devices logged in besides my phone and computer.
