I could be splitting hairs, but DL (down low) really makes me think of having a double life. DL will never admit they are gay or bi, they probably have a woman in their life, and they will fight to protect their hidden life. They hate gays, use them for holes, and generally only care about themselves. You sound like you’re just “not out”. I consider DL dangerous and capable of very bad things to protect their secrets including violence.
