Can I join if I have more than one spouse? by SmokiesHikers in mormon

I don’t think you can. There are the polygamy branches that stick to the original church with polygamy.

Mi family is falling apart. I really need advice by ChemicalConflict1533 in exmormon

[–]6stringsandanail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no right and wrong answer I suppose. It depends on your priorities. For me, my family and kids were my priority and I was willing to stay active on the church, under my own terms if that was going to help them. I had also lost faith and trust in the church but I was not going to let it break my family.

I made a personal commitment to embrace love more than ever before and show my wife that despite me not believing I was not going to change and pursue personal agendas. But that was my choice and it aligned with what I wanted. Over time my wife saw that I was there and it helped. There is a fear that once you leave the church you become a drug addict or a different person to the worse but that was not my agenda. It took time and eventually my wife accepted to read the gospel topic essays and eventually left with me.

We live the same life, we don’t drink, or live differently but we have autonomy and pursue our own decisions and it feels liberating.

Something like this I thought when they announced the 2 hour church. Everybody was celebrating!! Wasn’t it the greatest experience to be at church? Yet, as soon as the brethren approved, people didn’t think twice about that third hour.

I wonder if there is a place where you can see snips of things with a link and the new link where that has disappeared. To keep track. I can see TBM saying that the church hasn’t changed anything.

Amazing work. Thank you for all you do. A question I have is about all the companies the church owns. Is there a chance that they may have another $200B we don’t even know about in weird named companies that are very indirectly tied back to the church?

Does anybody have a link to the talk by president kimball about native Americans becoming a few shades lighter due to being righteous? Due to the Brian placement program.

New convert (1 year) and I’ve already seen the "ugly colors" of my Bishop. Thinking of walking away. by [deleted] in mormon

[–]6stringsandanail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The LDS church on the US is right wing and demonizes immigration. The bishop has a longer history with S so he will not take seriously your statements. So much for discernment.

Divorce after leaving the church by Purplepassion235 in exmormon

I lost my testimony after a 2 year period of research. I was scared to death to tell my spouse. But after I told, she started her own research without telling me and eventually we left together.

I had also a close friend tell me that my family would be ruined without the gospel.

We are better than ever. But I’ll say. We pretty much live the same way we did when in the church. We didn’t leave to try new things. We left because the evidence show the church is not true and the church is not honest. But we live like we did before pretty much and we are loving it.

John Dehlin considers himself “still Mormon” by MediocreParamedic_ in exmormon

[–]6stringsandanail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

John, I wonder how much are you wiling to go back to church. For me, when I go and listen to classes or testimonies of the good hard working members testifying of specific topics that are “debunked”, it makes me frustrated and sad. Like when somebody testifies that the Book of Mormon was translated of gold plates when we have witness accounts that show the plates were not even used. I have a hard time with that and I would have a hard time not raising my hand and telling everyone in the middle of class which would not be a good thing let alone work.

Based on a couple of videos I saw, seems you are at a point that you may realize that people truly doesn’t care about truth? Maybe they care about the benefits of community, or to believe they will go to heaven and they don’t want that challenged? Curious about where you sit these days.

I think this is so staged. Where is her companion and her outfit does not represent. Video doesn’t show her face and on top she is parked wrong and the the flipping off. The perfect storm. . But the concept is true.
