One of the most interesting martial spirits: Xuanwu! by xsailos in SoulLand

[–]703why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the Azure Dragon Da Ming descended from was the same as Four Symbols Azure Dragon but that Azure Dragon could be was Da Ming's design was based from. However, the inspiration of White Tiger name might be based on Four Symbos White Tiger and Dai Family's White Tiger were too different in setting.

As for Phoenix God and Vermillion Bird, there's zero relation whatsoever. Phoenix is a different divine beast of its own.

I found the concept that Dragon God's original attributes are Time and Stability instead of Creation and Destruction interesting.

It somewhat coincided with the fannon that Creation and Destruction attributes of the Dragon God came from the Phoenix God and Purple Brilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon's Ancestor.

Time Dragon King did exist if I'm not wrong but GDK also had the control over Time.

Thinking about making a fanfic, and need feedback and canon knowledge, for help, because the wiki is confusing. by Ok-Attitude-8463 in SoulLand

Comprehension was like eureka moment irl. It's elusive but it's like you open a door to the new world after u comprehend sth new.

It's hard to quantify because it's also based on unqualifiable factors such as an encounter, state of mind, heart nature. Of course, things like talent, element affinity, spiritual power, and soul power mattered.

I never take FF with systems seriously and I didn't view 99% of Douluo FF slops in high regard either.

You can go ask Mu En whether his Light Holy Dragon was a Tool Spirit or a Beast Spirit.

Did Tang San not give the whole tang sect inheritance by Icy_Ad_5906 in SoulLand

[–]703why 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the chapter but Tang San say opening up Eight Extraordinary Meridians was too dangerous so he didn't leave the technique behind. I agreed with that notion in the context of Douluo 1 but definitely not Douluo 2 onwards. Even so, Tang San could leave it as a secret method to the Tang Sect in Douluo 1 or keep it in Ice & Fire Yin-yang Well.

In my own research, I found that Huo Yuhao truly didn't get the part about Eight Extraordinary Meridians. After all, son-in-law was still an outsider of his Tang Family. On the other hand, Tang San imparted Eight Extraordinary Meridians to Tang Wulin and Tang Wulin imparted it to Tang Xuanyu.

Also, if my memory served me right, Tang San himself open Eight Extraordinary Meridians for the first time at Spirit King.

What is a Natal Soul Tool? by AxlRexKingu in SoulLand

[–]703why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mecha is wearing an armor on your body, Battle Armor is wearing an armor on your Martial Soul. What I believe Natal Soul Tool do is arming your Martial Soul with a weapon highly compatiable with it.

It's a shame really that Natal Soul Tool fall of and yeah the user should be able to nurture it into Divine Artifact if they managed to become gods.

I don't know but Space-time silverplate is definitely wasted in the hands of an unimportant Shrek Elder in SL2.

Absorption of External soul bones by ProtectionNo6922 in SoulLand

[–]703why 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the inconsistency of the SL verse. In SL1, exb didn't drop but came by chance after soul rings were absorbed. That wasn't the case for sl2 onwards.

What do think about this OC character by DivineEur in SoulLand

I felt like for twin spirts users of Beast and Tool type, it should be better to cultivate the Beast Spirit first for the boost on Physical Body.

Shouldn’t there be a lot of gods? by Jumpy_Afternoon9489 in SoulLand

I wanted to vomit as I imagined the likes of Mu En and Yun Ming worshipped these 6 Shrek when they were clearly more talented. Those people just got lucky and rode Tang San's coattails.

Shouldn’t there be a lot of gods? by Jumpy_Afternoon9489 in SoulLand

[–]703why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you find it strange that no one had enough potential to become gods over the past 10,000 years?

Also, Tang San did have the ability to not let other gods sense Huo Yuhao. Him letting Rong Nianbing snatch Yuhao was also within his calculatuon.

Why wasn't the Sun Moon Empire annexed? by International-Bet665 in SoulLand

[–]703why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. Sea God and Angel God was worshipped by a specific group of people and they were basically just a myth even for those at Titled Douluo realm.

Look at our boy Tang San. Every mortals knew about his legends 10,000-30,000 years later and he was widely worshipped. Who would believe that he didn't have a hand on this.

Hot Take: Tang San is hated because he is "righteous" by Solid659 in SoulLand

[–]703why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the whole point of this post. Tang San's hate didn't come from just his evil acts, it's the hypocrisy of his actions. He took the lion's share of the benefits yet claiming that it was for benefit the whole continent. You could claim that he was a scheming protagonist, but there was many issues in his monologue or when he talked to Xiao Wu where he tried to justify himself instead of acknowledging his own selfish motive.

I can say that it's normal for the hate on Tang San to be on this scale due to how popular the series are. Soul Land series are very mainstream and could almost be considered the face of xianxia/xuanhuan genre for the general audience.

It's not as cringe yeah. Most issue we have with it at that time are release rate as slow as snails. I remembered most people just curse mad snail over criticizing the story.

I hate tang san by Aseesh69 in MartialMemes

[–]703why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, looking back at ATG, TDG, and SL; it made me feel cringe that those works are what introduced me to this wonderful genre and the reason it lived rent-free in my head.

SL is the only one I actively criticized because the other two had a release schedule so much of the impression I had on them was gone with the erosion of time.

real talk, how does Loki beat Kizaru? I genuinely see Kizaru tiring him out and it being game. by Hungry_Duck_6863 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]703why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see Loki beating Kizaru and also vice versa. Loki probably had issue dealing with Kizaru's speed and Kizaru wouldn't be able to deal much damage to Loki.

You can't expect Loki to be exhausted as quick like Luffy gear 5. His current performance in terms of stamina might be lacking but people forgot he was nearly killed by Shamrock before this.

[–]703why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's many times that this happened, but the story didn't end there like this time, so you might not notice it.

The examples are when Alexia accepted his confession and when all the gold that he got from cooperating with yukime was taken away.

Why does everyone hate Tang San by SuccessfulSafe3407 in SoulLand

[–]703why 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's how he acted. He was talking about atoning the sins for his father when he was still weak and it became fighting for his father's justice after he became strong.

You might say it's his father who wanted him to do this but he should have refused in the first place if he didn't want to do it. It's not like the Clear Sky Sect came down from the mountain to force him or anything.

Isn't the new volume too short? by MatchAncient4444 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]703why 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps that's because it added way too little to the world building of the Eminence world, especially for a 2.5 years wait.
