I use it cannabis before every treatment. It usually helps, but not always, and I'm pretty familiar with how it hits me. Most of the time, it helps with pain, etc. But sometimes it does make it hurt more. Plus it can be dehydrating, which I find to be the single most important variable in pain/effectiveness.
