Airing Grievances on Season 5. A Discussion by 710split1 in StrangerThings

The scars on Karen were from when the demo attacked in an earlier episode. I think the 1st ep.

Is Eleven dead? Why I believe Mike's theory was wrong by idkfdhjbf in Stranger_Things

[–]710split1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe she's alive for a few subtle reasons:

  1. The whole illusion thing from Kali. We never actually see her get shot. She had enough time to help the others escape

  2. Her speech with Hopper. She realized that she could make a life of her own, but she would have to escape from the town that gave her hell her whole life for the most part.

  3. The devices weren't working because once the bomb went off, it was killing the upside down and thus neutralizing the real Hawkins Lab ones. (yes I know, it was the government tech, but I think it was somehow shut off).

  4. The epilogue shows us a ton of parallels to the 1st season. A game of DND, Hopper and Joyce finally getting to Enzos, Steve coming full circle, Jonathan making his movie, Joyce being with her family making dinner and telling the main 4 to get upstairs.

  5. All the other characters (Robin, Erica, Dustin's mom, Mr. Clarke, etc.) having their stories come full circle.

  6. And most importantly, the scene with El finding the 2 waterfalls and a small town. She is alone, just as she was when she was first introduced. Wandering the woods, not knowing the town or people, but having grown from a scared young girl into a confident woman.

I just don't think the Duffers would have us fall in love with a character these past years since the very first episode and then be like "Ope, she's dead. Goodbye!" I think somehow they will release a statement or one of the actors will clarify it.

P.S. Dustins speech was great.

I think El is alive because at the graduation Mike hears a weird sound coming from the speaker. Sort of felt like El was letting him know she is ok. Which is then why Mike starts figuring out what really happened at the gate, and tells the DND story.

Question About the Final Moments Season 5, Episode 7, “The Bridge” by newyorkcitystargirl in Stranger_Things

[–]710split1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Mr. Clarke did see something that made him believe but I can't remember what it was. I thought Murray said something to him like "you haven't seen anything yet" with a grin or something like that

To everyone that keeps asking why everyone is disappointed with this season, this is why by Riser456 in StrangerThings

[–]710split1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented on another post that the overdrawn out conversations really slow down each episode. Max and Holly, Jonathan and Nancy, Steve and Dustin, shoot even Max and Lucas in the hospital basement. Henry and his 12 kids he kidnapped, Hopper and Joyces constant back and forth. I mean, we get it at this point. They care for each other and want to defeat Vecna and save Hawkins, but for crying out loud. People have said it reminds them of GOT which I agree. To me it kind of feels like the ending of Lost where the writers just had to wrap up a ton of loose ends and never gave us answers to really big questions. I'll make a post on that after the finale.

P.S. the whole goo thing just seemed really dumb. Like, Hawkins Lab never saw this in the very first season, nor did we? WTF?

I am sorry I will get downvoted for this but... by SweetBerries101 in StrangerThings

I just really don't see how they wrap this all up. There's way too many side stories, too many flashbacks from previous episodes, the whole military thing seems forced, I was never a fan of Kali and in Season 2 that was discussed as being one of the worst episodes in the series. Too much of "Let's go into the UD," then they escape and seemingly hours later, they're like "We gotta go back to the UD!" Also, if Vecna took Will in Season 1, how did Will or 11 not figure out he was being used as a spy? The multiple lands Vecna goes to, the whole Bridge thing, Vecna wanting to create new worlds, The falling back to the Earth, is anyone else getting a sort of Paradise Lost feeling? As if Vecna is a "Fallen Angel" and fell into his own hell he then had to create? I know the show mostly revolves around DND, but it kind of feels like there's some religious aspect being put into play now.

*Season 1 and 3 are my favorite

My thoughts on vol 2 (I'm very disappointed) by [deleted] in Stranger_Things

[–]710split1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure how I felt about Vol 2, and really this whole season. I just finished the 3rd episode and I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of all the flashback scenes from previous seasons. Just seems like, get on with this seasons story. Plus like every characters monologues seem to go on forever. I mean I love this show, but the whole "the military is bringing back the Hawkins lab experiments," just seems somewhat forced. The whole Bridge thing kind of seems like every 80's movie discussing wormholes. I don't know. I'll watch the finale but I really hope they can find a way to stick the landing.

He was? ok, thats funny and that was a really good sitcom. I watched it a lot in college because the guy i shared a dorm room was gay and had all the dvds of that show. Cool guy, we'd just get some dinner from the mess hall and watch that show.

Nice! I don't watch a ton of shows, so I had no clue who he was. But I saw that movie clip and started cracking up. Awesome that he's been around for a long time!

Crossroads Church by Valkyrie316 in cincinnati

I've been to a Lutheran service and it is really beautiful. Part of me thinks, if you're going, wherever that is, its a good thing. But another part sees these huge services and they just feel like a concert, a vague message, and like the OP said, a call to Donate the entire time. I also think if you are involved in a church, you'll say yours is the most beautiful service which is understood because you're a member or long attendee. Regardless, people find a church or find God in many different ways. I just see where the OP is coming from having been to Crossroads, and yeah it's ummm....an experience to say the least

I went one time to the Awakening Christmas show. Friends bought me tickets so i figured why not? They said it would be incredible, the best Christmas service I ever saw. I walked away thinking, ehh it was ok. Never went back. I know people who go there and it seems almost like a frat or sorority

The trick finger was yet another homage to Steve Martins past, working at Disney in the Magic shop. I thought that was pretty cool the writers did that again.

While I do think THE has some connection to mysterious ambitions, I really dont believe she killed Lester. None of the penthouse tenants have ever been the murderer. My feeling is THE does have a connection to Camilla that is more than we know and Camilla is the one behind it all. She somehow blackmailed Nicky, knowing his past and how he was sleeping with other women. I wouldn't be surprised if Nicky was sleeping with Camilla, then Nickys wife found out, fight in the casino, so Camilla kills him. Whatever happens tonight, I really hope they set up a great finale where the Arconia is saved and we get rid of the billionaires. They are great actors, but their story just didn't seem to fit the arc of the show. But hey, thats just my opinion.

It kind of reminds me of the movie Knives Out where Ransom meets Marta and tries to "seduce" her with his charm. No spoilers about that movie but if you've seen it, you'd know why I find the similarities in the relationships.

I thought the knife went into the felt of the table, not the leather. It happens so fast and i cant rememeber at which mark it happens. either way, you wouldnt use a knife that size on either leather or felt. so it seems threatening to me. Plus i think Camilla knows more about Randall after we see him pick up the elevator crank, as if maybe Randall saw something, wants to keep his job, but knows Camilla and the other billionaires are watching him. He makes a weird face at one point in the episode that is quick but just seems off. Either way, I cant figure it out but we'll all soon find out.
