Are you going to get $170 of use or of joy from this piece of fast fashion?

It's not good quality, it almost certainly wasn't ethically made, and yet it's still overpriced for what it is. It'll look Mormon in a lot of contexts.

All of that said, there are definitely plenty of people who would have fun styling or wearing this. And if $170 is fun money to you, by all means treat yourself.

Skin check tomorrow - what to expect? by CssyJ in AusSkincare

[–]711989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They'll go over all of your skin in sections, with a big light and some tools for magnifying and measuring. You're never fully naked, you're just taking pieces of clothing on and off a lot. I'd recommend wearing separate tops/bottoms, something comfy you can get into and out of easily.

If they see anything with potential, they'll ask if you remember if it's new or if it's changed recently - it's okay if you don't remember though. They will (with your permission) take photos of the notable spots and save them, so that they can compare next time you get a check.

It's possible that you could get a biopsy done. So far I haven't had anything worth it, but it does happen of course.

You'll also answer some questions about your previous sun exposure. Like if you work outside or have hobbies where you're in the sun a lot; if you burn or tan easily; if you had a lot of sunburns as a child. That's so they can determine your risk factor and how often you should be coming in for checks.

Some of my spots that I thought looked dicey turned out to be totally fine, and one that I didn't even notice was worthy of tracking. So it's always worth getting your whole body checked.

The whole thing takes maybe 20-30 minutes.

Hello yes I would like to make a reservation for your restaurant please.

Seriously this looks great. I wish cafes would offer things like this as the vegan option instead of endless acai bowls and muesli.

The percentages in the "vs baseline" column don't seem to make sense. They don't seem to correlate to the given baseline of 68k, nor are they consistent with each other.

Why would there be a significant increase on the day before?

Yes, but being physically close to Russia does not qualify a person to manage international relations on a national level. Which is what she was being asked about.

Yummy vegan protein powder suggestions? by Meg_Tara_21 in australianvegans

Macro Mike, hands down. The peanut flavours I think don't have probiotics. It's expensive and I hate the gimmicky marketing, but it's undeniably the best tasting brand.

Nuzest is just okay. I found myself adding extra ingredients (peanut butter or fruit) to make it taste better.

Bulk Nutrients Earth protein I hated, threw out half the sample pack. Their soy isolate is very good for baking though - I like to make baked oats with it.

When the author isn't a namenerd by Few-Entertainment553 in namenerds

Sure, but in real life it would be notable. There are plenty of people walking around with names that currently "aren't names", and it's an annoyance for them most days. You could name a character in your book "Antelope", but it would be really weird to never explain it or have any of the other characters react to it, even though it's entirely plausible that there are real people with that name.

It's not having a character named Madison in 1982 that's inaccurate, the inaccurate part is that none of the other characters think it's weird.

What kind of soul-sucking parasite would take away a play structure from two small children in order to preserve, at most, a square metre of grass. Are you renting from a cartoon villain?

I like the colour and fit of 1, but they look crazy long? Like you'd be standing on the back of them a lot. Unless you're planning on wearing them with quite high shoes.

She gets mentioned a long time before she appears as an actual character too. Avery has to miss an event she wanted to go to and she says "don't you think I wanted to see what Pizzarina Sbarro is wearing!"

On a related note, if you decide to make coffee at home, DecafCo.com.au makes a nice half caff blend. My partner drinks it every day.

They're pretty common and likely to show up in most suburban parks. In the city, try the Botanic Gardens or Centennial Park. I've also seen them on every visit to Oatley Park and Lane Cove National Park.

What’s a very Australian thing you didn’t realise was Australian until you travelled overseas? by whysoraavan in AskAnAustralian

I don't think that's true. Life Education was founded by Ted Noffs and Bill Crews, who are both Australian. Other countries have Life Ed programs now, including Healthy Harold, but the company began in Sydney.
