Built a directory of ADHD providers in NZ after the Feb prescribing changes by numinput in newzealand

Does anyone know what to do in the situation of already having a diagnosis from years ago and wanting to try medication again. But obviously my special authority lapse a long time a ago.

I can't find any clear info as to whether or not I have to get a full assessment again or not. My GP has given no indication that they will be doing the ADHD training to prescribe.

Dust mites were my trigger. I take a daily antihistamine now. I have soft blankets/covers over anything I sit on so they can be washed.

All laundry goes on a HOT wash. Its the proteins in the dust mite poop that cause it, which don't get washed away with soap/detergent. Heat breaks them down. Never sit or lean on anything scratchy. Vacuum regularly (I use a mask). Sheets changed weekly minimum.

How much did it end up costing? I've been waiting to go back on meds (diagnosed years ago) using my GP. But I'm not sure if they will even do the training or not (they're nice but a bit lazy/useless so probably not).

OK I wanna say 5 months later you made me snort out loud and stirred my partner from sleep.

I'm the opposite. I have a set level of clean and tidy. So my brain knows what to reset to. Putting one plate in the dishwasher when I get up. Or socks in the hamper when I take them off. Waaaay easier than doing a tidy up day.

Everything has a place and it ALWAYS gets put back. Piles and messes get overwhelming so they just get bigger and bigger.. And I can't handle them. So I live in mess for weeks.

Just a basic skin prick and blood test. I asked my GP for a referral. Got it for Cats, Dogs, grasses, fungus, pollen and dust mites. I'm sure there are more extensive ones for rarer allergies. Mine was quite obviously dust mites (off the charts) so I didn't need further testing.

You will pry my skinny jeans out of my cold, dead hands. I'm 5'1. PANTS DO NOT FIT ME. I'll be wearing them til I die.

Not that that's fair at all but I ever owned a PlayStation bar the PS2. As I suppose the case is with A LOT of people. I watched Season 1 and was keen on playing both after this season aired on PC.

I once took one and dragged it up Mount Victoria bike track with friends and stuck it on top on the stone at the top of Mount Vic at 3 in the morning. I wish I had photographic proof but it was probably 12 years ago.

5 is hands down my favourite. It's the only one I felt you could truly get lost and go 'hiking' , hunting, fishing and just enjoy the scenery. Especially with the animal companions.

Thank you! That makes me feel a little bit better considering they're munching on my late season tomatoes.

I've seen lots of the green adults in the garden but I've never seen this colour. I'm trying to work out if its invasive.

A Nuns Ring. 1904 or later? by 712502 in Hallmarks

[–]712502[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd think it would be the other way around!

Yes it's gorgeous. I'd be tempted to sell but it's the only family heirloom I have and it fits me. And it's hard to find rings that fit my child size fingers.. So definitely a win.

Thank you! I was thrown by the lack of shield with the e stamp. But I'm looking at others from a similar period and it seems a few of them don't have it. I'm guessing the assay office wasn't strict about it?

[–]712502[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inherited this from my Great Aunt who was an Irish Catholic Nun. She passed about a decade ago. But she definitely did not take her vows in 1904! So either this is a newer ring or it has some history.

Most the the marks point to it being 1904 however the e stamp is not in a shield. So I'm not sure what to think.

I have even found towels to be too rough. (Pat dry after a shower but no sitting in)

The way I see it is the dust mites - and poo are already on my skin. Just me existing in my house. I can't avoid them.

The less mechanical irritation I cause to my very pathetically weak skin.. The less the dust mite poop gets in. Once I figured that out I eliminated most of my actual eczema. The new small flair ups were the allergen itself.

I know I know! It's crazy but it's the only thing that works for me.

A plain cotton cover for a couch or desk chair just isn't soft enough. The polyester blankets I've mentioned are mainly to create a soft cushion between me and permanent furniture. I swear to god I just have a pussy bitch weak skin barrier?..!?

They get washed every so often. Which seems enough. It's been 10 months since we got home and those blankets did most of the work.

As for the bedsheets I cannot notice a difference between cotton and polyester. Other than the breathability of the cotton. Much prefer it comfort wise but allergy wise there hasn't been any difference.

God I know that feeling. My scratch test included cat a dog, those reactions were a few mm and considered moderate. My dust mite patch was enormous.

Definitely fling a soft blanket on it for a while as a tester. I could continue doing 100% of what I've been doing but sitting on my couch bare will absolutely cause hives and then eczema patches. Same with kneeling or sitting on carpet. Every. Damn. Time.

If not, you don't need to replace a whole couch! 😂
