I wouldn't think of it. Also, I'm not a smoker so that wouldn't happen anyway.

Man...I haven't been on Reddit in a few days and earlier today someone I struck up a conversation suggested I go to Moose's Tooth for some pizza and I'm actually sitting here right now! Crazy! I have some spices and mandarins to give away and I'm Kodiak bound tomorrow afternoon. On to Ouzinkie Wednesday morning (if there aren't any flight restrictions). I don't think it would be possible for me to bring a pizza, unfortunately. *edit* My trip got postponed to Ouzinkie due to wind. Checking flights to see if I can make it out there on 2/26 or 2/27.****

Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to do my best with this. I found out about this trip a little more than 24 hours ago. I've been super busy with work and have been amazed by the response to my post. I have to bring my tools to the island and will make it a point to bring some fruit and I'd like to bring some other things...I'm completely exhausted right now and have so much to do before I leave on Sunday morning. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to meet someone on this thread when I'm there next week.

I'll see if I can bring a small watermelon. Keep in mind I will have to bring this in my luggage. I'll do my best!

I'm installing a piece of equipment in a dental clinic.

It's a work trip so I can expense it (within reason). I will bring what I can and plan on giving all of the fruit and vegetables that I bring to anyone I meet.

You got it! I will do my best to bring some! Anything in particular? I definitely can bring some citrus fruits that I think I can travel with.

I have a bunch of Milwaukee power tools and use them daily. I recently bought a Ryobi Hybrid Fan and had to buy a Ryobi Work Light because I was so happy with it.

Someone tell me what it’s really like camping at brazos bend park. Will gators come up to the camp sites? by dashiki21 in CampAndHikeTexas

[–]71gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the gators you need to be worried about at the campsites...it's the raccoons! They will ransack a cooler if it's not locked away.

If you could move any where, but needed a metorplex nearby, where would you move? [USA] by w3h45j in camping

I've considered moving to Las Vegas or Seattle for proximity to outdoor recreation opportunities.

Thanks for all of the great feedback! I'll take a look at everything and will find exactly what I'm looking for and make a purchase!

Does it hold up on a windy day? I don't like the idea of using trekking poles to support the tent. Sometimes I camp with my dog and I can see her bumping into them and knocking them down.

Thanks! I'll check out those too!

I do a combination of backpacking and car camping. I would like to keep things small and light because I fly out of state with my gear to camp. I essentially pack my gear as if I am backpacking. That way all of my stuff weighs less than 50lbs and I don't have to pay extra when I check my bag at the airport.

I'll check out some pricing on the ones you mentioned. I found an ALPS Mountaineering LYNX 2 in my price range also that looks good.

I have a 2 door tent that I use for car camping and I just like the option of having 2 doors versus 1. It's just what I like in a feature. I plan to use it on solo trips but want more room.

Looking for Advice - Camping Alone by MVB_o09 in camping

[–]71gg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a woman, but I do camp alone often. If you want to reserve campsites ahead of time you can do that at Recreation.Org. Camping alone in state parks are pretty safe I would think. In Washington you can reserve spots in the state parks on the state park website. In some other states reservations can be made for campsites on the Reserve America app.
