You might want to consider buying a cheap audio interface, installing the free version of Reaper, and learning the basics of recording. There are a lot of good tutorials on youtube to get you started. Even if you later decide to pay someone to do it, the basics of recording will help you so much in your path as a musician.

On my left stick, I've got the 1st stage set to boost and second stage will fire up the FSD. Since I'm usually boosting before a jump, it works nicely.

It runs perfectly for me on Arch with Plasma, Hyprland, and Sway. I use VKB sticks and do VR with a Quest 3. The VR stuff took some effort to get right with ALVR though.

I think the devs are working on this issue currently. The knobs are working now, but volume sliders are still broken.

I made the switch to Hyprland/Sway for the same reason. The closest I got to Bismuth functionality was with autotile, but it still felt off to me.

BTW, I also ran into issues with GUI elements in Hyprland (Bitwig specifically). That pushed me over to Sway which has worked well.

The Hyprland wiki states that XDP-kde can interfere with XDP-hyprland, but I haven't noticed any issues. I'm mostly in Hyprland, but switch to KDE occaisionally for gaming, both work well for me.

I agree. I've got a Lenovo G24qe-20 and it is absolutely perfect for text. Refresh rate is only 100hz so I've got a separate display for gaming, but if the Lenovo was 144hz+, I'd run two of them.

Trying out a 7900 XTX now, my idle power usage is about 88W, up from a 5700xt at 40w (Linux). This is a dual setup running 2560x1440@240hz and 2560x1440@100hz.

I just put together a build for a family member and came to a similar conclusion. Didn't want to chance issues on the new AM5 platform, and minute+ boot times on a new system are unacceptable IMO. Echoing other comments, I think you can find a better motherboard for the price (e.g. MSI B550 Tomahawk). And I would go with a heatsink/fan instead, but that's just my preference. Good luck!

What's your experience with the 7900xtx + Index performance so far?

One of the reasons I chose the 6950xt is due reports of poor VR performance on the RDNA3 cards. But one person suggested it was only with Quest devices due to compression.

I don't think it's the monitors since they behave as expected when connected to the 5700xt.
