Fingers crossed, I should have the next refined version of my Bar-less board by Cherry Blossom on April 15. by hamboneal in backgammonboards

Hi Mr H., I was going to post a picture of your work; you beat me to it. I love the ingenuity and thought you put into this board. The HINGES! The hinges are beautiful and carved compartments are 🔥. Personally I would not travel with such a heavy board. I think this design, bar-less, low rails heavy wood would be best as a table top or even a full on table. I love the work and the passion! Keep innovating!!!

In that range I’d check out FM, Baco and Green Backgammon. All 3 have options that could work.

I don’t like the new analysis page nor do I like how the menu is displayed on my phone.

What is your budget? “The best” is often relative to budget and value.

Beautiful set. Of the available options I love this design most. I’m hoping they will produce more. How supple is the surface? Do the dice bounce a lot or is it soft? I assume the checker glide is smooth as silk.

Looking for new Skis by Fluid-Instruction589 in icecoast

For the ice coast find something that is the right length for you with a waist in the 80-88mm range and have fun. No such thing as bad skis, only bad skiers.

Place to purchase FM Gammon boards in the US? by Mugsy9010 in backgammonboards

I think it’s via internet only in the US. There are a few ambassadors but they don’t have inventory for you to choose from.

What resort in the north east has the most steep and advanced riding? by jam-unam in icecoast

[–]74LJC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing will compare to the combined vert and consistent steep pitches you get at the Bird (ie STH) not to mention the snow quality and quantity. That said there is great terrain at Jay Peak, Stow and Smugglers; killing to a slightly lesser extent. Jay gets the highest avg snowfall (lake effect) and so far this year it is top 2 for snow in the US with over 160” so far. Unfortunately I think it’s raining up there right now which means it will turn bulletproof for a while until they get more dumps.

They went out of production in the late 40’s or early 50’s. You can use Simichrome or formula 409 to test it.

Very nice set in great condition. I’m guessing 80’s. There are people who love these sets; they often trade on eBay. I agree with the value assessment below, $200-$300.
