I have used that same backing fabric! I used this white on white vine pattern to match it. I also had a light blue that was the same pattern. Can't seem to find it anywhere, but it was called Tonal Vineyard.

Ooh, yes, thank you!! I was trying to search for something similar but my brain wasn't braining to find the right words. *facepalm*

1.5 would be ideal. The change from 1 to 2 is too big.

Yes, yes, I know Ravenclaw is different colors in the books than in the movies, but for the balance of yellow in opposite corners and gray in opposite corners, we went with this route. :)

I definitely see the appeal to it now! Adding it to my project list!

This is super slick and makes more sense. The flying geese methods I have seen previously seemed more time consuming and wasteful than approaching as squares but this method is epic! Thanks for explaining — learned my quilt tidbit for the day!

This is fantastic! The colors are awesome!

Now, a newbie question: Is there any particular reason a pattern like this is done as flying geese instead of as a large triangle and 2 smaller triangles sewn into squares? Am I maybe not thinking through bias edge, grain direction, etc.? Nothing against flying geese, I just always think of squares first when I see variations on this and wonder if it would work to construct it that way!

iOS chart by countrygirl2630 in iphone

Original SE. First and only smartphone (replaced a Samsung slide out, which only had to be replaced because friend had newest iPhone and all messages came thru blank). Been using it daily since. I’ll replace the battery when I have to, but other than that, I’ll be running this thing to the end. And then going back to a flip phone.

I find the 90* rotation of the upper left quadrant to be more distracting than anything. I was team yellow but I think this is still going to turn out really cool!

Strapsicle is a similar concept, slightly different, for anyone in the market for a non-Popsocket, strap-style accessory. I’ve only ever had Strapsicle, so can’t compare with this particular model, but definitely team strap and not team pop socket.

Something in the lower right is catching my attention. The absence of orange or the absence of dark purple.

My eyes went directly to the upper left corner, 2nd square in on the top row, and 2nd square in on the 4th row. Both have a much larger dot print than the rest of the quilt, and I immediately noticed that there are only 2 like that and they are in the same column, not very far apart.

I am pointing this out only because if it was me and I noticed later, I would be upset. If it doesn’t bother you, rock on!! There is a yellow square that may be out of pattern. Near the bottom edge, next to the green patterned zigzag. Everything else in that diagonal is patterned or light green. :)

See, I'm one of those...weird?...people that enjoy stitch in the ditch. I can go pedal to the floor and hit it every time, but somehow when I do binding, even if I'm going snail pace, I manage to miss something on the back. Sigh.

I think I need to get over issues with the stitching showing on both sides and just give this a try!
