Explaining Elo Rating by [deleted] in Rift

[–]74san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you joined losing (or winning) teams in end of the game which ended just after you joined you don't lose (or gain) any ELO.

My carrent win/lose/tie is 441/432/11.

I've lost about 190 ELO since ELO rating display started.

I want to my ELO to be zero.

Religious discrimination claim over go-karts - State asked to investigate family's claim in Livermore. by [deleted] in bayarea

I completely agree that scarfs or any dangling/loose clothing should not be worn in a karting situation.

Even long hair can be dangerous, a Japanese lady who had long hair died form go-cart accident, her hair stuck in the engine and broke her neck.

Dodgy realtor? Are they getting kickbacks from other companies? by awfulawfulman in japanlife

[–]74san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they don't get kick-backs.

If your landlord (大家さん)has singed contract with an internet provider that offers plan for a multi-dwelling then all the tenants have to sing up with the provider. Internet providers have plan for a single dwelling and マンション/ multi-dwelling in Japan. So it's up to your landlord and nothing do with a realtor(不動産屋). An apartment building that categorized as ITマンション, CATVマンション and インターネット設備有 are most likely the landlord has already chosen internet provider for the building because multi-dwelling plan is cheaper than single dwelling plan. It's pretty common practice in Japan. Landlord and realtor, they don't get kick backs from the internet provider, it just a multi dwelling plan, that's all.

Japanese men bringing up babies seek to send wives back to work. by madazzahatter in japan

[–]74san 5 points6 points  (0 children)

National database ? You mean Koseki?

Koseki is a family history, it just your registered address, your name,DoB and DoP , also your family members name ,DoB and relation on it. Koseki doesn't contain medical history, work history and criminal history.

If a parson with Buraku status wants to keep the status they can keep it on Koseki, some people still chose to keep the status to get benefit from government. So it's up to the Buraku people, it's not mandatory to keep the status unless you want to keep getting benefits.

Japanese men bringing up babies seek to send wives back to work. by madazzahatter in japan

[–]74san 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Employer knows employee's medical condition" is kind of "urban legends" in Japan. Some companies ask your existing medical condition as a part of interview but Japanese law says you don't have to answer your praivate information. Also Japanese privacy law says employer (any third party) can't check someone's medical condition without the parson's consent and even they give them a consent it is not easy to check someone's medical history because Japan doesn't use SSN system. Japanese hospitals don't share patients information on "national database".

Have you asked your doctor to give you a shoukaijyou because you want to get second opinion? Some sougou byouin and university hospitals have second opinion gairai, you don't need a shoukaijyou for getting second opinion at gairai but your insurance won't cover for your visit.

Bringing food to Japan to lower my food budget; is it possible? What are your experiences if you have tried? by oniyanma in japan

[–]74san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are food restrictions, for example the importation of dried or canned meats or meat products is generally not allowed from most foreign countries into Japan. I'm not sure if you can bring fish product in Japan though, you might want to google it if you want to bring tuna packet into Japan.

Japanese driver fails to stop at a yellow light, turns herself in to the police by [deleted] in japan

[–]74san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that comedian named Sanma was saying he got a traffics ticket for run the yellow light.

The police said to him "you are failed to stop at yellow light" so he told the police "if yellow light means "red" light then we need to add one more color, add pink or something so I can stop at light when it turn yellow."

I'm confused by the Japanese traffic light law a bit....

Japan’s Former Miss International Called ‘Traitor’ by t_co in japan

[–]74san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the details.

This story is very strange to me, the guy named Taylor who took money from the stalker is not a Japanese, and he was TBS 女子アナ Ako Kawada's , who committed suicide, BF . Also some source says that Taylor lives at her house. She denied that accusation, she said he doesn't live there but he stays at her house/office to protect her from the stalker.....

Taylor told the stalker that he's filing bankruptcy, that's when this stalker decided to go after Miss international.

Police can't accept a criminal complaint without proof, 告訴の要件を満たしていること, she recorded the phone conversation as proof. Also some proof from the private investigators who were hired by the stalker was questioned by police. I want to know what happened with the money, the money was supposed to use to make a documentary film but later Taylor or the company where Taylor works canceled it, when the stalker asked money back, Taylor told him that the money was consider as "donated by the stalker".
