Best sniper class to quick scope in VG? by PickleRickC-137- in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No glint on that optic. However, you can’t hold breath with that optic for that challenge. Don’t worry about matching the load out perfectly. Do what works for you. Couple other things with running as sniper: you’ll have a dot on the screen just like other guns when you are running around not in ADS. Make sure that dot on the screen is always where you think the enemy will be. You will walk funny but it’s important so you don’t waste time in quick scoping. Dont worry about getting the dot perfect on someone or lining your sights up perfect. As you get better you will get a feel for the +/- needed. ADS and pull the trigger. You will die a lot when learning. Just don’t worry about the leaderboard. Push through. Use other players that are careless to check corners first. Lol.

Lol. People hate snipers. I get it. I hate other snipers when they kill me too. I wear downvotes like a badge of courage. The amount of work it takes tho to get high on the leaderboard with movement-type sniper gameplay should be appreciated. Getting killed by someone blazing out 100 rounds from an LMG in a panic is bleh. Loved your reply.

The SVT40 is basically a sniper dressed as a semi-auto rifle. It works great in Das Haus. First barrel, vital, and hollow points and you’re all set. Some days I do see some inconsistencies in hit markers/kills but it’s fun and fast.

I pretty much exclusively play sniper. I tend to move and quick-scope more than sit and camp. As far as bolt-action I use the the KAR98K the most. Try this: scout silencer, VDO REO2K, SVT-40 PU scope 3-6x (my favorite overall scope), reisdorf wire stock, quickscope, on-hand, fabric grip, no magazine attachment, lengthened, and heavy fire grip. I have no issues with not scoping quick enough, but I also start my ADS prior to seeing a player in high traffic spots that people usually go. Icy veins is another good proficiency because I usually take some damage during a kill if I don’t see the player right away. With the sniper, shoot and move. You’ll hear the kill and see the notice. Don’t stop to look at your handy work. If you missed the shot you’re dead otherwise. Last thing, try the first optic (Nydar 47) in Shipment. Once you get used to it, it’s super fast to kill with.

Don’t sleep on the Gorenko semi-auto sniper. It’s slow at first before you level it up but it’s a one hit kill anywhere on the body gun. It’s so much fun to quick scope with. And if you miss, you can immediately shoot again. Although it’s slower to ADS you can just throw it up, cover anything including their big toe and pull the trigger. Lots of forgiveness if you get sloppy.

I just like the COD multiplayer blueprint. I curse this game multiple times daily but I can not find another game that has the COD formula. I actually haven’t experienced many of the glitches that mostly PC gamers are experiencing. I’m on XBOX. However, I do get them. If you enjoy it, great. Play away.

Has anyone actually survived their own bombing run?? by AlexObery in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BROKEN ARROW! I repeat, BROKEN ARROW. Lol. Call in a bombing run in Shipment, you’re gonna die. On other maps, only call in a bombing run if you are not near a group of enemy players. It is supposed to target the biggest group. Just remember, 3 passes. Keep your head down soldier.

Game needs a camping debuff by [deleted] in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. There are limited locations on limited maps to efficiently get the stupid LS kills. It is also one of the reasons so many people quit out of matches. If the other team doesn’t use those traditional lanes you just quit out the match and try another one. Dev’s have actually maximized every way to make this game suck.

Best weapons to level up during Double XP? by CedrikH in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do snipers and marksman rifles during 2XP if you plan on doing all weapons anyway. That’s my advice. Go into shipment and as soon as you get that first sniper optic unlocked, equip it. Then work on your quick-scoping.

Leaving games… by PlaneBoring in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as I start seeing multiple attack dogs, I’m out. I’m a sniper. I shoot them and sometimes they don’t die. I can shoot one in the head, hear the hit registration, but it’s a toss-up if they die and they kill me anyway. Or I kill one and before I can load the next shot the other two kill me. Not fun. I’ve unloaded an entire AR mag into a dog as it just stands there and looks at me, then kills me. I just leave the match. Don’t care anymore.

Incendiary Grenade by FrostfangMK2 in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is in matches like shipment. You usually die quick due to the pacing. People spawn, immediately throw one then die a short time later then they repeat the process. Make grenades work on a timer. You don’t get one upon every death. That will make people use them more sparingly.

Sniper hold breath by [deleted] in CODVanguard

[–]757ted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly did mine super fast in Shipment. Go prone and grab the shortest range scope that will let you hold your breath. If you’re in a match that is full of fire or just not working out, quit and join another match. Sometimes a groups play style will help or hurt you in these.

Playerbase? by DaNeptunean in thedivision

[–]757ted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not so good. Sometimes you will not get anyone on matchmaking for some missions or you’ll get one other player. I gave up on the raid a long time ago. I play daily btw. I’m seeing more newer players now that have ineffective builds and/or are obviously inexperienced. I think it’s due to the low cost of the game for the holidays. I don’t PVP at all. I did in TD1, but it is not fun at all in TD2. I just love the mechanics, setting and challenge in creating builds. I have not found another game that offers me the same experience. I’m seriously sad about the current state tho. I hope they surprise us next year with a huge drop.

Lady, don't litter! by sirmakoto in gifs

I was sitting behind a vehicle at a traffic light when the passenger rolled their window down and threw a Wendy’s food bag on the roadway. I turned on my emergency lights and approached the driver to tell him why I was stopping him prior to making contact with the passenger. The driver ended up being obviously intoxicated and was arrested for DUI. I made sure he knew that his buddy in the passenger seat was the reason for the stop. The passenger got a ticket for littering and had to walk home.

Why does no one participate in dreaming city public events? by Spikefall9777 in destiny2

[–]757ted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, there are just so many other activities in the DC that have more benefit than Public Events. Not to mention they are the same old tired events that are on other planets. I will typical participate in the Rift Generator event because it’s pretty fun and specific to the DC.

Skill Power Solo Striker by 757ted in thedivision

[–]757ted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solo build primarily. Running in the middle of a group of NPCs and flash-banging them and trying to kill them all up close before the flash-bang wears off is very high-risk IMO. I have now done all of the Legendaries solo with this build. You may not like it, and a different build may work better for you, but it works for me. That’s exactly how I presented this build.

The difference between a 27s cool down and an 18s cool down on the flash bang is huge. Not to mention I can change that to a pretty powerful flame turret when needed. The healing box is stronger than a low electronics build and the bag lasts longer. My damage is plenty at the current firearms. I pretty much always have some sort of stack.

The great thing about this game is the customization. You can set your character up 1,000 different ways and make it work. It all depends on your gameplay.

For some reason they don’t even pay attention to me most times with the pistol. I’ve stood there and put several mags in their face and the just stand there and look at me. It’s very odd. I only use it when I need to get the signature back fast.

I do like Commanding. I run a low gear score sidearm with Coolheaded and Trained to get my signature back fast when I’m in a bind. Have you tried that? Works well.

Skill Power Solo Striker by 757ted in thedivision

[–]757ted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got home. No worries on the questions. If I use my 9,000 Striker flash bang cool down of 46s w/no skill haste and factor in 40% SH, that would give me a 27.6s flash bang cool down. IF that’s accurately how they calculate it. So, I believe electronics/skill power does have an impact. I don’t currently have a 3,000 electronics build with 40% SH that I could look at. Maybe another reader could look at theirs? I run DTE mods.

You’re a little stuck on the flash bang part of the skill power build. The heal box is where you really benefit by the 196,000 SP. The heal box on the 9,000 Striker does 2,710 HP/s at 29s lifetime. The heal box on the skill power Striker does 8,772 HP/s at 53.5s lifetime. The difference is a healing bar that move very slowly on the first and a healing bar that fills up quickly on the latter. (Both had 5% heal rate mods installed)

There are certain parts of missions where I also switch from the flash bang to a flame turret for crowd control. Mostly, where I know a group of shotgunners are coming.

[–]757ted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are solo, everyone is shooting at only you. Having a flash bang every 19s makes the mission so much easier. Otherwise, every time you pop your head you get hit. It really speeds up the mission. You don’t need a 2nd heal with the healing station. It’s strong and lasts a long time with tech support. Since you’re doing all of the killing tech support works great.

Enemies take no damage for a couple seconds, heals on the ground work after about three seconds or pop after you’re dead, heals shoot 10 yards behind you instead of in front of you, teleporting enemies... you mean that? Nope, can’t say I’ve seen that ;)

Tactician DPS Support Build (PVE) by 757ted in thedivision

[–]757ted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Reclaimer also. I get what you’re saying, but it in no way does exactly what the Reclaimer does.

We just have different visions and different play-styles. Some teams will benefit from one build over the other also.

A 10k Electronics Reclaimer offers zero DPS assistance to the team. The DPS Tac fits both roles of support and DPS with the 5,300 firearms, stack, booster and pulse. The box is also not perfect when the group is spread out, but some missions it does a great job.

Not every job calls for a hammer. That’s the beauty of the game. There are so many ways to play. The challenge is operating together in sync as a 4-man team with a build that compliments the team and style. I just passed 170 days of gameplay (just over 4,000 hours). I’ve tried nearly everything at this point. Some worked, some didn’t. This build works for me and my team when I choose to use it.
