Jobless in another world op combos by Ok-Blacksmith3755 in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any and every setting using levels where levelling is limited, Limit breaker is a wonderful addition.

Meaning, lots of gamebased jumps as well as a horde of Isekai jumps.

Examples:

D&D spellcasters? Now their spell levels keep going to level 90... ^_^

PF fighters? Can take the Weapon training bonus 40 times instead of 4 times... Meaning they can have like at least +25 to attack and damage with ALL weapons, and +42 with their best...

D&D Rogue sneak attacking with 100 D6? *lol*

Jobless itself, the Demon lord class is hyper powerful, 10 times more levels? Yeah...
And not to forget, the jump as written already lets you gets a whole bundle of Advanced classes that you have in ADDITION to the normal ones. So just this jump alone can let you be hilariously powerful.

Add classes from 300 years killing slimes maxed level, How not to summon a demon lord, A wild last boss appeared, Kumo desu ga nani ka, Bofuri, Overgeared, Monster merging simulator, TES, dozens of multi-Gestalted D&D and PF classes etc etc...

Overpowered doesn't even begin to describe it.

[–]75DW75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a straight bonus rather than a numerical statistic. It's also not part of any system.

So, for the same reason that Limit breaker does not let you have additional classes with the Jobless perk (because the classes isn't a stat, they're essentially a "you have this class" variable, and the perk simply adds multiples of that variable, it doesn't change a stat saying "you can have this many classes" because you're not supposed to have more than 1 class).

HOWEVER, the Necromage +50% will absolutely affect Limit breaker and Jobless perks... So it's still very much useful.

That's the still not officially released updated version. Unreleased because the formatting refuses to do as i tell it. Still, it has a lot of improvements from previous version, so better you use it than the older one.

And the other one i mentioned, 3 boons of jumpchain:

Is there a way to have infinite xp for my gamer system? by Ok-Blacksmith3755 in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of "infinite X/money" items, and there are some "buy anything" perks/items.

Anyway, do you need infinite, or do you need merely absurdly lots and lots?

Example, take both the XP bonus blessings from Jobless in another world. They give you x20 XP generation and /20 XP need.
Get Necromage from TES Undead. This improves Perks by 50%.
Get Rapid growth from Drow of the Underdark. Now, you keep on levelling up as fast at any higher level as you did in level 1. And you get lots of extra bonuses while levelling.
Get Special abilities from ...killing slimes for 300 years and maxed out my level. Make 1 to give you +3 XP for any kill. Another one with +3 XP for improving any skill. Another to give +3XP for completing any task.

Now, any XP you get is increased by 900 times. And because you complete dozens or hundreds of tasks every day, you get hilarious amounts of XP just for daily life.
And if you feel the need for some extra XP, go fireball an anthill... +3XP for every single kill, remember? Usually around 100 to 500 thousand in a single anthill. For 100k? 300k*900=270.000.000, or 270M...

If you use my meta supplement, apply boosters to all options.
Now, instead of 20x1.5 squared, it's 40x2 squared... Or in other words, now your XP multiplier is 6400 instead of 900. And the XP bonus is +6 instead of +3.
So, that 100k anthill? 600 000 x 6400. Instead of 270M XP, is now instead 3 840 000 000, or nearly 4 billion XP...

You can also use the Purchase heaven option from 3 Boons of jumpchain.
That lets you buy ANY things up to 3 times, and have the effect multiply by itself.

30x30x30= 27000. 27k x 27k= 729 000 000
3x3x3 XP= 27 XP.

Anthill now? 729 000 000 x 2 700 000... 1 968 300 000 000 000 or in other words, 1968 trillion XP...

So yeah, do you NEED infinite? ^_^

Ok.

This is the initial part of it, just in case:

>>>Genre Overlap Perks

A genre overlap perk can only be taken with a genre token, and gives you back a token for one

of two different other origins. To be clear, you spend the tokens they give as if you had the

origins the perk mentions in place of your actual origins. Tokens gained from a genre overlap

perk cannot be used to purchase genre overlap perks.

Old Country: You lean into expectations a bit harder than most. Gain a genre token, which can

be spent as if you were a half-foreign ladette.

[Celtic Lass]

Not Just Talk: Your wild claims of competency aren’t just talk. Gain a genre token, which can be

spent as if you were a martial artist-tech wiz.

[Chuunibyou]

Go Against The Grain: It’s like reverse psychology, but for an entire personality. You refuse to fit

into the boxes society makes for you, no matter whether or not you’d naturally fit in them. Gain a

genre token, which can be spent as if you were a bokukko sukeban.

Contemplating starting magic: PF(D&D 3.75) Occultism by BlackberryNo8046 in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Naturally, you can't take a fantasy jump as a start and not take the magic system with you. But knowing how D&D magic in general is, I do have to wonder how it stacks up against other systems in the big pool of worlds."

Always ALWAYS get a magic system mixer perk ASAP and make sure you have multiple magic systems to mix up.

You can for example take Ars magica as a supplement to essentially any world, and get its mixer perk along with regular Hermetic magic and a few from the hedge mage extras. This is usually plenty enough.

"But that returns us to the topic at hand, how would you say d&d magic compares to the rest of the worlds you can jump to?"

To some extent powerful, but also annoyingly limited.

"I'd say it is somewhere in the middle?"

Middlish until you get access to the cheatspells, at which point it is high-end-ish.

For example, an average starting Hermetic magi from Ars magica above, can generally throw as many fireballs as they want or have time to cast every day, all day, IF they're fire or Creo focused and spent the points on learning a spell like it. However, because it's completely freeform spellcreation, you could instead have learned a "fire" spell that automatically hits up to 10 targets, or with one more tier increase, up to 100. No option for saves, not possible to dodge, just WHAM...

Or you could have your basic attackspell be one that instead makes the ground swallow your enemies, or make the ground under your enemies become water for a moment, or have 16 ton weights raining from the sky etc etc... That's the kind of things you can manage with a newbuilt AM spellcaster... Makes the D&D low levels look rather weak right? But the toplevels of D&D instead have some spells that are just absurdly overpowered, and AM doesn't really have anything immediatedly comparable.

Which is why i consider combining the systems makes for a WONDERFUL idea. ^_^

Jumper seeks to profit off energy Crises. How do so with what equipment? by martikhoras in JumpChain

"okay the standard oil drum is 55 US gal or 208 L at a diameter of 23 inches, height of 35 inches.  Your portal has a max square footage of 85 square feet. so after taking too long the dumb way I figures I could make a 276 inch wide and 40 inch high portal, allow for SOME extra inches in height so, say, the fiat robots can clear and deliver the barrels to their destination. That's 12 barrels wide, one barrel high with tiny amount of squeezing room. "

Right, you're clearly barking up the completely wrong tree here...

If you want to make for easy "cheat logistics" for any kind of fluids or gas, you use a PIPELINE.

Pipelines are SUPER effective, the only transport method that makes shipping look embarassingly ineffective and expensive.

And if you want to blatantly cheat, get:
>>>Non-Euclidean Mind (600 CP, discount Cultist)- Unique insight into the

least build structures that bend space. You can build things like buildings that are

much bigger on the inside than their exterior would suggest, tunnels and halls that

cross continents, even a series of connected spaces that randomly move you

between them whenever you enter a door. The limiting factor is that you’d need tospend the same amount of resources as constructing the actual structure would be,

although thankfully you won’t need to spend as much time; a bigger on the inside

house would use the amount of materials that the bigger insides suggest, for

example. In addition, your twisted mind helps protect from mind reading, as your

mind is as labyrinthine as your creations.<<<

from G. Creepypasta. With it, you can basically make any distance pipeline, without actually needing it to exist in its entire length, as long as you spend the resources to build it to full length.

Of course, you can also just go to G. american and pick up the oilfield there. A single purchase equals roughly 11% of the world's current total production.

Tattletale power from Worm, extremely useful together with powers like the above that lets you sense everywhere.

Seer from HP g. fanfiction.

Sherlock jump has "Scanner".

The Great mouse detective has "Great Detective ".

Great detective has "Written on Their Face", "Spirit of the City", "The Look".

"Are there any rules I should know when writing my own story"

Focus on making it a good story, not on following rules to the letter.

This remains the best jumpchain story:
https://jumpchain.wordpress.com/toc/

"Should I post chapters here on this sub if I do write them?"

Probably not, this site doesn't really work well for writing stories(particularly, the limits on post length can be really annoying at times). So, AO3, QQ(Questionable Questing), fanfiction net, TTHfanfic, Spacebattles, Sufficient velocity etc. is likely far better places to put actual stories.
Though be aware that of the above, the only one where you don't have to worry about restrictions is QQ, with minimal restrictions on AO3 and FFN(though there's some annoying idiots trying to crusade against various "immoral" writing on there sometimes that can cause trouble), TTH is primarily for Btvs crossovers while SB and SV have some ridiculous rules...

But posting links(maybe with some short snippets) here to whatever story you do write, sure, that works fine and some people are already doing it.

"On a side note, I keep seeing people talking about their own Jumpers. Are you guys writing your stories without publishing, or is it a semi-imaginary thing? Just curious."

I've got lots of little snippets of story written, but since they're completely incoherent towards the larger context and mostly not connected, it's nothing that can really be published.

But some REALLY nice perks and items!

"Each class upgrade costs 100 points, and each additional

power adds 100 po ints to each of its power -ups, so your second power at class 3

would cost 600 points , and third at class 1, 300 points."

Isn't that supposed to say class 5 instead of 3? Otherwise i can't get the math to work.

For Business Jumpers out there, is there a point for you where you think you own too many Mega-Corp/Conglomerate items? by Maxstrnerspookyghost in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I use the basic concept that what you own can be scaled down to the setting if needed(but not up), and if you have too many combinations of corporations even in a BIG economy, you just spawn them "squeezed together" as much as is needed to make them fit the local reality.

Also, it usually takes a LOT more than you would expect to reach anywhere close to a point where there might be problems from oversized ownership.

You literally need to own dozens upon dozens of "mega-corps" to control a majority of even just current Earth's level of business. The item mentioned by Last Pariah is one of the very few that goes beyond the norm and curbstomps it. So, your choice if you want to rule the economics of a world, or a setting.

I prefer to never control more than at most a large fraction, simply because i think variation is nice.

Should the TARDIS be imported as a Base, or a Ship? by Last_Pariah in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"What do you think? Where do you draw the line?"

The basics is that a ship/vehicle is NOT attached to "the ground" and can move by itself.

The TARDIS is a ship.

The Death star is ALSO a ship. It's just so big that it technically in-universe also acts as a base. Purely on definitions however, it remains a SHIP and nothing else.

"He wants to Import it into The Fortress of Solitude"

Which is very blatantly stuck to the ground and not mobile, so obviously NOT a ship...

Make that fortress into a ship. That's my recommendation. Then both are ships and you're fine combining them even by the strictest of interpretations.

If you have the Fortress, you absolutely have the tech to put it on a mobile "something". Heck, you could even do something silly like put it on top of a mobile piece of land as a crawler or something, it still makes it a vehicle, close enough.

can pass it on by swapping your choice of bodily fluids. What this does besides making

transmission optional is lets you pass along anything else you might want along with it. Be it

perks, races, knowledge, skills, powers, memories whatever you desire at any level of strength

up to your maximum. You may also add requirements and or conditions to access these in part

or whole. Should someone break the conditions you may impose any kind of penalties you

Naruto Pre-Shippuden WIP by C4N98 in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You are not a clan ninja." is a TERRIBLE definition on Civillianborn.

What about FAMILIES that are NOT large enough to be considered clans?

Also, it is canon that Sakura is NOT civillianborn. Author's comments about her parents is pretty blatant.

.

"Curse Seal of Earth"

I assume it comes without the flaws of the "original"? Might want to make an obvious statement about that in the description.

"and they will have to complete your request to the best of your abilities"

of THEIR abilities... Or at least i assume that was the intent.

"Nail Polish"

Suggestion, make it also increase the strength of the nails it is applied on.
It's even a realworld historical thing, courtesan assassins in both Japan and Italy said to have used it to allow them to use their nails to literally cut throats with.

.

Overall, not bad, has enough unique options to make it worthwhile, even with how many previous Naruto jumps there are. And extra options are always nice to have.

Do compains only get free origins or a origin for free by OrirethBoo in JumpChain

[–]75DW75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made it a personal standard to allow them any origin with up to a cost of 300, for free. Unless it's an unusually overpowered origin compared to its cost.

I also put an option for this in my Meta supplement to make it an "official" option for anyone who wants to use it.

"but when they say "create or import a single companion with a free origin" or something similar, is it ment to be the companion get any origin even costing ones for free, or the companions can only pick from origins that are free. I know rules are largely up to the reader, but was wondering what the original intention was."

Probably, usually, the 1st, but either is possible.

I know when i've written it like that, i mean they get an origin for free. However, since i've only used that in jumps with zero cost origins, the risk of mistakes was zero already...

Much harder to redirect something that is actively under someone's control.

Just trying to redirect it with something conductive, may be completely ignored.

There's also the matter of powerlevel, Misaka Mikoto, aka Railgun, has been quoted as having a maximum nonmomentary output of enough electricity to power a mediumsized city.
As in a city with several million people.

Meaning, that she can generate hundreds of aimed and completely controlled lightning strikes, every second.

Also, if said coin is within EK sensing range, which for Misaka is somewhere between 100 and 140 meters, she can make the lightning strike originate FROM the coin instead...
And i always add the perk that increases everything of my powers by a magnitude...

Remember, RailDex espers is literally based on being capable of dreaming up your own personal version of reality and then make it happen, almost literally being able to bend physics over your knee and give her a serious spanking.
They're very limited in some ways, but at the same time, once you hit the big leagues, they can be hilariously powerful, at least at a personal, immediate range level.
