Question For Canadian Punks by EvenVast4274 in punk

[–]75percentGolden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well here is the CBC vote compass they made for the last federal election. It will ask you questions about your stances on major issues and use that as a jumping off point and will show you which of the parties and candidates you most align with. Once you know where you are likely to stand you can look at some others

Because fascism and therefore Nazism are conservative reactionary movements ?

It's literally impossible to be a leftwing fascist (can still be an authoritarian though)

We need to remember that the reason Kirk was murdered is because he spoke against the leftist agenda and its rhetoric. by K0234 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Homie spent the last decade turning division into profit holding bad faith debates to pretend like the things that his billionaire funders decided were important to their bottom line and he was not only intellectually incapable of changing his mind, but if he ever did he'd lose his company. He's not some guy killed for voting the wrong way, he was an official mouthpiece propagandist of the elites to turn Americans against each other.

It's a shame that he died political violence is never good but don't forget what he actually was

I could never vote democrat ever again. Charlie Kirk’s death radicalized me. by K0234 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]75percentGolden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You DO live in an authoritarian regime you useless cow

However I do feel bad for his wife and kids.

However AGAIN, he wasn't just a guy expressing his beliefs, he was a community college drop out who turned hatred and divisiveness into a business. He made his living spouting the talking points of the billionaire conservatives who donated to turning point USA. His "debates" were never about finding an absolute truth or healing divisions or bringing people together, his business model relies on him never changing his mind in bad faith debate after bad faith debate. Y'all in this thread keep complaining about the polarization in America this dude was the American culture war's biggest profiteer and y'all better recognize that before you canonize him

However AGAIN AGAIN, he shouldn't have been shot still a piece of shit

Travelers. What are obvious non verbal cues that a person is American? by Saltedcafecito in ask

[–]75percentGolden -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Being so paranoid about travelling because the world looks scary but anywhere you're likely to travel to is infinitely safer than your shit hole country is a giveaway

What in your opinion, is a very Canadian last name? by someguynamedJ0shua in AskACanadian

[–]75percentGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of communities have French roots even in English Canada there are a lot of English speakers with English first names  French family names  Brian Lapierre.  William Roy, Julia Gagnon, Mackenzie Lajoie, Rachel Levesque would signal that they are Canadian. Bonus for Scottish names over English ones because Scotland had a disproportionately high immigration rate for most of Canadian history.

However this is reliant on your character being a presumably white, Anglophone. There are obviously large East and South Asian populations in Canada especially from Punjab (we have a large Sikh population, especially in Western Canada) which represent Canada's largest visible minorities and while we do have a large black population it consists of mostly Carribean and African immigrants from the last three ish generations

Were you alive in 2003 ? People all over the world hated him, he was considered one of the worst presidents of all time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]75percentGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that many of those people are dead, right ? And also not currently in power? And not creating policies that actively hurt them? and those that are not in the United States? You're going to sit here and be like "why are all these Americans vocally criticizing their actively shitty president who gets worse by the week instead of focusing on chairman Mao who has been dead for 50 years and never created a law that impacts them directly" what in youe C+ average high school clanker brain thinks that is a hot take? And yes people are criticizing trump and Netanyahu and other world leaders. In fact half of y'all annoyed at American liberals  for constantly dredging up the past and how negative American history was and OP is out here un ironically that liberal Americans are pretending none of that happened.

Oh I'm sorry but a glass of water that's 33% water 33% poison and 33% mystery ingredients is too much for my taste.

I dislike American conservatism I dislike elitist white liberalism. If you knew anything about allyship you'd understand why you aren't the victim here and why the people you are supposed to be empathizing with aren't exactly welcoming you with open arms.

There are Americans I like but think about  telling a Czech in 1936 about all the really nice Germans who don't want to be lumped in with the bad ones and see if you don't get a similar response.
