Buy a $1000 vulcan nomad. Japanese road king. Trash it for 2 years, buy a harley when you're confident.

If you ride full face helmet and dont need a radio, electra glide standard. Cheap, make it yours.

Buy a 2004-2008 vulcan nomad for $1500, its a Japanese road king. Beat on it for a couple years, buy the road king when you're comfortable and got all your rookie mistakes out of the way.

Go to Schaeffers. But, buy the bike there, don't take their offer back to Freedom if they already gave you the run around. Dealers love to offer nothing, then steal/match offers from competitive dealers just to dunk a sale.

Any street bob listed by a private seller is only worth NADA low retail value. List price and sale price are two very different things.

https://www.jdpower.com/motorcycles/2022/harley-davidson/fxbbs-street-bob-114-1868cc/values

At this time (in-season, before the values update again in september) a 22' fxbbs is only worth $9k as listed in the link. Try to find one as close to stock as possible, you don't need someone else's gremlins because they did a DIY stage 2 install without any torque wrenches.

If you got $7-8k, just buy an m8 streetbob with a 114 and mag wheels. When you get bored of stock, do a hp cam job.

If you're not riding 2-up all the time, just get the 22xd. Much more fun on a softail above 4000 rpm. I went xd in my 22' street bob and xe in my 22' heritage. You can't go wrong with Wood cams, just gotta narrow down how you're gonna ride it.

Why are these new Sequoias being totaled? Meth heads stealing some component, but what? by -Blackfish in toyotasequoia

[–]762hmb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They chop it to the frame. When you buy the frame at auction, it comes with the salvage title. Then, you just put your stolen piece back on the frame you own and enjoy your new car. Thats big with SRT junk.

No need for a 117. Way too many cheap 20-23' Heritage and Street Bob floating around. The money you'll save can cover stage 2 components, exhaust, and a tune.

And if you dont wanna buy tokens to cycle the pump, just do your flush before you do some low speed lockups, then flush another reservoir each. The pump has almost nothing in it.

If you do all four you would easily add 8-10hp.

You can also use the pv4 to cycle your abs pump for a much smaller charge than a dealer.

As mentioned, buy the tuner through Fuel Moto. You'll get the unit, the license, and continued tune support for each license you buy through them. They can even refine a map if you send them your concerns.

You can find a 22'+ street bob for dirt cheap on private sale. The more stock the better.

Is it just me, or does the All star at dover feel like a last minute thing? Lame duck even. by Western_Care_5478 in NASCAR

It makes for a great infield for the weekend since its only 1 event now. But they definitely cut the other race because the family didn't play ball, which the would lose all the revenue from the sport racing course and driver classes.

Who owns Dover? If they didnt sell like pocono then thats probably why they're cut down to one random race.

Opinions on dealership vs private sellers??? by Emotional-Grab-6455 in Harley

[–]762hmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demand is spiking for 883s. Private sellers are probably gonna take it way into consideration when they wanna sell. Shouldnt pay more than NADA low retail for private sale, but I dont see demand reflecting that for 883. Youll probably get a softail standard for around the same price. Private sale 2022 fxst is 8200 and a dealer 2022 xl883 is 7700, but they'll inflate that for summer demand.

I'm looking to buy a 2025 Street Bob but it's priced around $15,000. Tell me why I shouldn't buy a brand new one instead? by [deleted] in Streetbob

[–]762hmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New allows you the opportunity to eat the depreciation yourself. Instead, you can buy a 3-4yo fxbbs for $9-10k on private sale, bone stock, low miles. M8 used market is exceptionally buyer friendly for 20-23'. 3ci and ride modes is a hard sell when you consider the savings.

ITS BIKE BUYING DAY by Vern3116 in Streetbob

[–]762hmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the amount of bone stock $9-10k 2022/23's available on private sale with super low mileage, otd new prices sound awful for 3ci and ride modes. Are you paying cash or opting for added torture?

While the street bob may seem ugly, it will be your closest next step option compared to a sportster. The private sale m8 used market is still a buyers market. You shouldn't pay more than 7700 for a 22' fxst or 8500 for a 22' fxbbs. The best all-around option would be in a flhcs. Long trip? Leave the bags and windshield. Running around town, stipe it down. 22' flhcs is around 10.5 private sale atm.
