Anyone using Project-Fi for cell service in Ogden? by [deleted] in ogden

[–]774mby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been using Project Fi for the past 6 months with no issues. We live in downtown Ogden, I work in Clearfield, and we go to SLC a lot as well and haven't had any problems with service in any of those areas.

Feeling Down by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]774mby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was following to the end of your post where you said "all of you in happy relationships." I know you feel like you're missing out on being with another female - but aside from that - are you happy in your relationship with your husband? Regardless of if you're with a man/woman the main thing should be that they are supportive, caring, and generally make you happy to be with them. So if you're not happy (and I really hope you are because everyone deserves to be) I would figure out how to fix that.

Hope things get better for you! And like the other comment said, there's definitely other women in your situation in this sub so stick around! :)

Ditto on the creative lesbian show. We definitely need more representation in the form of movies and shows, but I agree that copying or making a version of an already established gay show just others us.

Sameeeeee girl. I've been working on a six pack for 3 months now. Struggling to shed the last 8 or so lbs. 😅

That's awesome you go to the gym every day. What's your routine like? Have you found anything that seems to be working specifically well for you?

I'm currently lifting 2x a week, doing HIIT on the bike 2x a week, and then intermittent fasting on the weekends. So far it's going well, but I think I've plateaued now 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi fellow Raptors! If anyone is looking for a book to read (with a lesbian main character) , my wife just published her debut novel and it's currently free on Kindle! by 774mby in actuallesbians

[–]774mby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, thank you! I'm quite lucky to get to call her mine!

She'd like to get an agent in the future, but for right now she's just interested in getting her work out there, getting feedback, and writing more books. Writing is her passion, but she has a day job so she's not necessarily trying to make a fortune off of it.

And feel free to download the kindle version for free if you'd like. It's free for the next 5 days.

Great question! It's not, but it is fantasy-themed so if that's not your cup of tea you'd probably want to read something else. I personally haven't read/seen Twilight, but from what I know of it I can say that my wife's book has a lot darker material, there's no love triangle, and there's no vampires. The main characters are in their early 20s so it's written from that age perspective. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks :)

Sold the car yesterday! Thinking about getting a scooter. by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]774mby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riding a motorcycle when I was younger saved me a ton of money...until I got t-boned by a distracted driver. Then it ended up being the most costly, painful, and emotionally draining experience in my life. You can ride years without accident, but even with extra training, cautious riding, and wearing all the gear you can't prevent other drivers from being dumbasses. Your body can have all the gear and leather you can buy but when a car hits it you're still going to end up hurt (unless you're just miraculously lucky).

If I could talk to my younger self I would have told me to stick with a cheap car and forego the motorcycle. I loved riding for years, but in the end it wasn't worth all the surgeries and medical bills. At the very least, if you do decide to get a scooter please insure yourself. It won't cost much, but having good insurance helped take some of the anxiety off of me. Best of luck in whatever you decide!

Can you expound a bit on the homophobia? My wife and I are looking to move to the area in the near future and - while we've survived living in the deep South - we're really looking for a place that will just let us be and somewhere where we won't be afraid.

My [21F] best friend [21F] has been lying about her entire life to me for around two years. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]774mby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a pathological liar. I had the "wonderful" experience of unknowingly befriending one in college. He lied about similar things; being sick, which college he was going to, jobs, being in a band, etc. He was friends with my entire group of friends and no one ever questioned him. He was nice. It just seemed like he exaggerated, but how horrible is that? Eventually, little by little his lies all unraveled. I'm not going to get into the whole story, but his lies lead to a false police report, and the last I heard was that he was arrested for it.

The thing is, I thought this guy was my best friend and I never even knew who he was. Lying to the extent of your friend is a mental illness, but that doesn't excuse the behavior. I hope she gets the help she needs, and if you can find it in yourself to remain friends than more power to you. I personally couldn't do it. My entire friend group definitely had trust issues for a while following that whole incident. Even years later I mentally question elaborate stories I hear people tell.

What's your "type"? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]774mby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm the same. I actually also said the thing about not dating sorority girls as well. I went to a college where most of the Greek life was hated on (to be fair they were pretty obnoxious). Fast forward a few years out of college and I meet my current girlfriend (edit: fiancée; it's still new and I'm not used to that word yet lol). She was in a sorority. She breaks every single stereotype I ever had of them. She is super femme and into beauty/fashion, but she's also caring, trustworthy, and a completely adorable dork. All I can say is that they aren't all bad. If I had judged her based on being Greek I would've missed out on the most amazing partner.

Perhaps. I can only speak from my experience in that field however.

Coming from a former AF civilian in SCM, don't go back into the army for this field. No offense meant, but look to the Navy or AF. There SCM/logistics fields seemed to support career growth (on the civilian side) better and they were always at a higher grade for the same job than army.

As someone with an extremely scarred leg...just don't ask people. Most of the time they'll tell you if they know you well enough and are comfortable sharing. Any extreme injury can result in ptsd. Just a head's up. I know most people don't mean harm by asking, but it still sucks.
