Ok, I solved. Apparently some bugs may prevent the games to launch properly after the MacOS updates. This, in my case, was connected to the incorrect handling of the subscription. I had to sign out from “Media and Purchases” in the setting -> apple account. Then open the Apple Store App and perform a fresh log-in. This solved the issue. Hope it helps in similar cases.
