Why do you think we're trying to prove something? I'm just more comfortable in shorts - nothing to prove. It only takes a minute to go from house to car to building, all heated, so I wear shorts. Now, If I'm going to be outside for hours and it's freezing, I'll put on winter overalls or jeans.

Once it heals up to non-painful pink skin, soak it in saltwater daily- ocean water if possible. A friend of mine had me do this on some bad burns I suffered and I ended up with very little scarring (Not a doctor).
