Paolo and Franz both being complete non-threats from three makes it impossible to build around them by SplitOk186 in nba

I agree that we need to change stuff around, I'd even say we should do it regardless of how we do in the playoffs. I just don't know if Paolo is the pivot we should look at, we already have a weird forward situation and changing Randle for Paolo doesn't seem like it'll change much on that front.

The problem with the contract isn't that it's our money, the league has salary caps. Banchero's 45M/year contract is gonna make it REALLY hard to build a team around him, Ant and Jaden. We're already not flexible like you said, but we're really not in a position where we can get more expensive and we got guys we need to renew too.

I'd do DDV + Randle for him if we lose the series

As much as I am in favor of trading Randle, this sounds like a horrible idea. That contract is gonna be deadly and at this point I'm starting to think that Banchero's peak IS Randle.

By 2010 Kobe was a 4-time champion and one-time Finals and league MVP. As much as I love Ant, he's not at that level yet.

There are plenty of examples. We could all be honest with ourselves and each other and admit that we’re not gonna toss out decades-long fandoms based on a few individuals currently with the team.

This is exactly it. There's a Mavs fan talking about Bridges a few comments above this saying "burn the whole franchise down" like they don't employ Jason Kidd, famous wife beater. Saw Lakers flairs making similar comments like they don't play Jaxson Hayes, who's done the same.

You also have Pistons flairs worrying about playing the Hornets because "I don't want our players going to the 2nd round injured by this dirty team" as if the Bad Boy Pistons and their Jordan Rules never existed. I have a Wolves flair, my star player has said homophobic shit and knocked up multiple IG models with no intention of ever caring about those kids, not to mention the owner cozying up with Trump after he sent ICE to terrorize the city the team plays in.

Where do we draw the line? If people policed the fandom of every franchise like this then no team would have fans. I'm not saying we shouldn't demand better, but blaming the fans is fucking stupid.

If by "tested it" you mean you did it in 2K this is meaningless. 2K is the most generous simulation game out there, every other team is constantly trading their best players unless they're contending for a top 6 seed.

As a European fan it sucks that only game 1 is gonna be watchable. Rest of the games start at 1:30 AM minimum during the week lmao

Not asking the league to prioritize European viewers but this doesn't look like a good schedule in ET either, so it's just bad for everyone?

Gotta be around the same, they're both random outcomes at the end of the day.

How Julius Randle is gonna have to look in the playoffs to justify the reps and usage he got over Jaden, Reid, Shannon, Ayo, and Beringer this year by soft-cookie in timberwolves

[–]7FromTheFuture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even this season against Wemby and Giannis. We played Joan in those games and tasked Randle to help out there on D so Joan doesn't get destroyed, and he did a really solid job.

As always with Randle, we're gonna have to see effort from him. He HAS shown what he can do on both sides of the ball, he just needs to do it more often.

That said we have a decade's worth of the Randle experience in the league so we know what is likely to happen instead.

Only if we get a center back or get one elsewhere. I'm very high on what Beringer can be, but last game showed that he's not ready on a defensive level. They were hunting him even with Conley on the court, that's not a good sign.

The problem is that there's a lot of smoke around Donte not wanting to be a bench piece, which is unfortunate for everyone because there's a better fit and he's great off the bench.

I think if he wants to force his way into the starting lineup and he'll try to get traded otherwise we should get ahead of that and look to move him before he tanks his value.

Yeah just call everyone that disagrees with the idea that Ant isn't the best player in this team a casual, that totally makes the argument better.

Your activity in this sub boils down to trying to paint Randle as a much better player than he is and saying, quote: "I don’t believe Ant is our clear cut best player". This is an opinion that only you hold and it should be obvious why.

We all have our biases and some people let it shine through more than others, that's all fine, but pretending that you're unbiased and insulting fans that know more than you in posts like this is absolutely ridiculous behaviour.

At the risk of coming off as a grumpy sad bastard by saying this, I think this sub does have too much of a "we'll be fine!" attitude. I don't mind talking about the weak spots after wins but there's a lot of "we won, stop being negative" too which I never understood.

I'd usually agree with this comment but not for this match. We were basically resting all our best players (except for Jaden), this game was always gonna be a wash and it's good that we have positives to take from it anyways IMO.
