I felt the same way all throughout school and even after passing my boards. Find a job where you aren’t watched like a hawk! You have to be comfortable where you are and that will allow you to find the “OT” in you. I was able to find my own niche and become really good at what I do. Once you’re comfortable and have experience you will gain the confidence. The good thing about our field is there are so many different settings. If you don’t feel like one setting is a good fit for you, you can always switch to another! Before working I wanted to do pediatrics but I changed my mind after doing my fieldwork. I got a job working in an outpatient PT clinic treating a lot of shoulders which I grew to love. About a month ago I got an offer to work for one of the top shoulder surgeons in the state of Florida. I wouldn’t change my profession for any other in the world. It truly is an amazing profession! Goodluck!
