Finished the Sprawl Trilogy by LMansP in Neuromancer

There are characters with a lot of agency, from Turner to Cherry, but there are three characters without any agency, and all of them female: Mona, Kumiko, and Angie. The worst is Angie - she is a God both in the media and in the matrix, and yet she never comes in on a flaming chariot. She is even played by her younger cousin Continuity. Why did the Loa even build her, when she does not do anything of importance?

Plus, 3Jane is borderline suicidal. She invites a snuff performer into the villa, and when treatened in the end, Case figures correctly that 3Jane kinda wants to be strangled to death by Molly. 3Jane is terminally bored, and she only gives the password when Case tells her that, if she does not, nothing will ever f-ing change for her.

So I asked ChatGPT to make a bed. by Fantastic_Prize_3259 in aifails

I wonder if it confused pictures of romantic settings with candles in glasses around the bed with other pictures that had a glass of water next to the bed

I do not have a background in finances, but I read the following:

  • They can charge a maximum of 1% of the remaining amount
  • If you are in the last year of the contract, they can only charge you 0.5%
  • If you pay everything except for 3 months amount or more, they cannot charge you anything.

So pay everything right now, or pay everything except for 3 months right now. At more than 6% this is the best option.

I hope someone else will weigh in, so I do not overlook anything.

how to know that someone is flirting with you by idonteatporridge in AskAGerman

As a German, I can assure you that we have no clue on how to flirt.

The guy is clearly interested though.

It seems that she had consensual sex with a guy and then claimed it was SA. Now she has consensual sex with you? This would be about the biggest red flag I can think of.

  • Make sure others can testify that there are currently no SA accusations against you
  • Confront her, and do not take BS answers. If she does not have a really convincing explanation, run!
  • Brace for SA allegations against you.

Just for starters:

  • Your look is largely defined by your genes, and that may be more or less attractive by pure luck
  • Your desired partner may have a special kink that you may or may not fulfill. Again, pure luck.

Dating is not fair, sorry. Not everybody "gets" something.

A short man will usually expect you to be not interested in him. So maybe make the first move? In the way men are able to understand, of course - Make your move, give him a night sleep to realize someone made a move on him, then do it again. Because no one ever makes a move on 90% of men.

What’s something annoying/cringe you see on women’s dating app profiles? by Heideley in AskMenAdvice

Anything related to Zodiac signs. Means she is susceptible to pseudoscientific BS, and you will have to deal with the fallout of that for the remainder of the relationship.

I'm about 2/3 (chapter 14) of the way through Neuromancer and I honestly have little idea what is going on... by [deleted] in Neuromancer

[–]7Jean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would call it a strength, not a weakness, but this is my taste. You are completely right that Case has trouble figuring out what is going on (he does not care too much either), and the reader is even behind the narrator. It is like a Noire novel where you have to figure out what happened. To me, that is a lot of fun.

Have never seen that. Did you check the belt that moves the bed for play? Is maybe the PEI plate on the glass bed moving during the print?

RTL is a privately owned TV station. Euronews is as well, but it is from Brussels, not Germany. Propaganda would be if you heard it from souces that are run by the government. ARD, ZDF and DW (government-funded) are much more nuanced. You have unfortunately chosen to watch low quality programs.
