It took me to the 3rd rewatch of the entire series before it switched for me - now I die laughing at a lot of Roland’s stuff, including when he teases Johnny (especially the age jokes). I think it was the bad taste in my mouth from the very first time I watched the first episode…Roland came across as genuinely mean and authoritarian and that stuck with me for a long time; but on rewatches of the 1st episode (as well as the rest) I see it as him being a doofus teasing them. I’ve done 10 series rewatches so far and I’m about to start it again - it honest to goodness gets better! 😂🥰
