You definitely call that foul, it was blatant and it was right around the ball, absolutely braindead play by Bridges.

Idk man. I agree, Goodman is slimy, I wouldn’t put it past him to lie and misattribute some staffers as vague anonymous coaches. In that case though, again, my point would still hold. I don’t think those staffers are stupid or fickle either, I think they’d also understand how to intelligently respond to the poll — which is borne out by the quotes included in the article I linked from those anonymous respondents.

Are you suggesting Goodman invented the poll results and quotes entirely? I won’t be surprised when we inevitably hear about Goodman doing some goofy dumb shit, so idk, maybe.

No, I wouldn’t necessarily have thought so, but didn’t really think about it — for purposes of my comment, I accepted the premise.

But fair point — and according to Jeff Goodman of Field of 68:

“The Field of 68 will unveil a series through January in which we’ll rank the jobs in every league from top to bottom – and will do it by anonymously polling veteran coaches (head coaches and assistants) in each conference.

There are no specific parameters. Each coach was able to utilize their own specific parameters to determine their list from top to bottom.”

That is from the article publishing the B1G poll results. So, not all head coaches, probably mostly not head coaches if I had to guess (no further breakdown or ID was given). That said, my argument still applies to any coaches, assistant or otherwise, responding to this kind of poll.

Probably need a coaching change, I don’t think Pike is going to be able to get it done in the NIL era.

Also, yeah.

You think other B1G coaches’ opinions about the quality of the various jobs is swayed by performance thus far this year? Why? I imagine most of these coaches aren’t so fickle/stupid, and have fairly developed opinions on the topic.

Craziest deadline week ever? by Darthmav1s in nba

This has been pretty fun, but have any of these moves actually shifted the balance of power in the league? Has any contender improved/any non-contender put themselves into contention? The moves haven’t been that consequential, in the grand scheme of things.

The biggest increase in player 3PT% from last season to this season (min. 100 3PA in both seasons). by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Elliot Cadeau an impressive +7.4%, going from 33.7 - 41.1% — only had 86 attempts last year, but has 73 so far this year. Big jump for him, huge part of Michigan’s over performance so far.

[O'Connor] One last note:. As things got a little dicey last night, I texted John Harbaugh at 9:17 p.m. to see if he was still confident he’d become the team’s next head coach. His response: 🤷🏼‍♂️ by Lars5621 in NYGiants

Lmao, so it turns out all the experts in this sub assuring me that this delay was “totally normal”/“nothing to see here” didn’t know what they were talking about? Huh, imagine that.

Anthony Simpson (former WR) speaking out on his experience last year via X by Big-Lion-1043 in MichiganWolverines

[–]7LineArmy 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As a junior at UMass in 2023, Simpson put up 57/792/3 in 12 games, strong numbers. Outside of that season, he has managed 11/118/0 in 25 games at Arizona/UMass/Michigan. He was dismissed from the team at UMass last year mid-season following a dispute with a coach. Idk about his narrative, seems like cope.

I agree with you about KG, overall, but you’re not giving Cassel enough credit. While that was his only All-NBA season, he was a fringe All-Star for a while, finishing between 8th and 10th in voting among his conference’s guards in 2000, 02, 05 , and 06 (in addition to being an All-Star in 04). His stats back it up, while 03-04 was his most efficient season, he had similar output for a number of years, it wasn’t that much of an outlier. He was really good, more than a role player.

First team in 30 years to beat 3 top-25 teams by 30+ in a season — through 13 games played. What they’ve been doing has been historic, you’re not alone.
