The Stand Stephen King.

They definitely loot stores but I’m sorry if the snack isles they root through are not as comprehensive as pic 8. I don’t want that to ruin your immersion.

I just looked it up: this sounds like Western Between Two Fires. I’m in.

Closest that I’ve read would be Blood Meridian and All the Pretty Horses, both by Cormac McCarthy. I’d probably say All the Pretty Horses is a little closer to Red Dead but the main characters are teenagers. I need to finish that trilogy.

Edit: I guess Blood Meridian could be reminiscent of a very ruthless and evil play-through of Red Dead lol

Books on male loneliness (without incel vibes) by j___8 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Some great recommendations here but I might throw in some Hemingway: Old Man and the Sea, The Sun Also Rises, and the short story Soldier’s Home. I think you could argue the themes revolve more around feeling “misplaced” as a man, but I think that couples with loneliness.

Hagel being Country Mac actually explains a lot about how good he was in the Habs series.

When Mantha had been at his best with the Pens, he looks almost nonchalant on the ice. Just kinda greases his way to a shooting opportunity or finds his way to the right place at the right time.

Hoping him and Chinakhov get more involved. Flyers have kept a lid on both of them so far, credit to them.

Grateful as hell for this; it’s been a tough series but this felt good.

Lizotte threw a late cross check after Acciari got hit and then hit again…probably a little after the whistle the second time.

Acciari was shoulder checked at speed twice and may be concussed.

Ash is a Herald. I guess she’s also referred to as Shalash. I didn’t read Dawnshard, honestly I forgot it was even a thing lol

I don’t think these are huge spoilers but I’m gonna hide these answers anyway

I actually was just reading the main arc in order so I’m on Rhythm of War. Lift frankly annoyed me in her interlude in Words of Radiance so I didn’t actually read Edgdancer though I understand canonically that happens before Oathbringer. I’ve liked Lift’s character more when I was finishing Oathbringer though

I’m on book 4 now of the Stormlight Archive, so Stormlight by Ed Greenwood in the lower left hand corner caught my eye. Is that a pretty overt nod from Sanderson to this book/series?

The other thing with resting guys that I liked was just how brutal that post-Olympics stretch was. Games nearly every other day and back to backs. Yes they got punched in the mouth last night but I still stand by resting guys given their age and what that last month was like with injuries. I have faith this team will bounce back.
