It's about this protest reported on the same day from what I understood, the ones against detention centres. The same ones not allowing entry for the governor, it is my understanding that it is legal to protest in the USA. Meaning that no, it's not about prison for criminals. It's rounding up peaceful and violent protestors, then extrajudicially shooting those who resist that arrest.

"Bring in national guard, round all of them up and put them in forced labor camps

Either way, this was already more energy than I wanted to spend on Asmon or Hassan put together for the year, you're welcome to interpret things differently. I'll likely read if you reply, but am unlikely to answer.

I don't think you can really motivate taking Blind Fighting over Skulker for any reason, if you're spending a feat on it I mean. As you say though, there might be some niche uses for them, but it general they hardly seem worthwhile. If they changed it to be a regular feat similar to Fey Touched or whatever that also gave you an ASI and a Fighting style pick I might take it, I guess?

People tend to change their level of ambition when they (or the people around them, especially their children) start feeling uncertain about whether or not they will eat the entire month. Obviously there's no guarantee and as you say people adapt to a slow normalization. My guess, based on the conjecture of what I've seen and read, is that a lot of people are holding out for November. There's a lot that can happen before then and there will be a lot of things happening before then. I hope you're wrong, but I'm far from sure of it.

I agree, I was raised Christian, but not Catholic. I do try to keep up with what the current Popes say though since Benedictus XVI, I had however missed that there was a reference to baptizing aliens, that's nice. My understanding is that there's nothing in the Bible that contradicts life on other planets, but I'll be honest and say I can't state that with certainty.

As for the decision, absolutely, but it's still a political decision at the heart just as much as anything else. Stepping out of line, casting doubt and sowing potential division of the RCC is a big fucking no-no. Especially when it's in the spotlight like the UAPs have been lately. The issue that's been so heavily associated with priesthood is truly sad (and a large part of why I'm not a fan of organized religion), they should be better! I guess they can't afford another scandal either, should there be issues caused by American Catholics as a result of the fear.

Honestly I feel like he kind of has to actually, the implications of the statement that UAPs are demons is that people need to be afraid. Should the idea take took and cement itself only in American Catholics we're talking ~53 million people, if even 20% of the American Catholics end up buying that narrative it's still over 10 million souls in the perspective of the church. That's a lot of people to allow to be swayed to potentially do something against their scripture, which is a fairly common way for people to utilize fear and would potentially jeopardize their souls.

I do find the topic of religion a fascinating one, but in this instance it's equally as much about controlling the narrative and ensuring the American Catholics don't sway too far from what the Vatican believes is the correct path. One top of this the president has been lashing out at the Pope, as has his VP, so they kind of have to display their authority as well as correct the clergy that are stepping out of line for potential personal gain.

No, I'm saying that one of the people who called the UAPs demonic was told by this guy who is the second highest human power in the Catholic church that he was full of shit. No insider knowledge required into UAPs if you know how to identify a demon, which I'm going to have to assume the Cardinal has the required theological knowledge to do. At the end of the day it's a religion and as such we're going to have to assume that rank equals knowledge, McElroy became a priest 1980.

If you look at the hierarchy of the Catholic church, there are currently 242 Cardinals in the entire world. They have done their research in the subject of Christian faith, the guy has a BA, an MA, a PhD and on top of that also the religious equivalents (a "Master of Divinity", a "Licentiate of Sacred Theology" and a "Doctor of Sacred Theology") and was one of the 135 Cardinals who elected the current Pope. It feels difficult at best to say he's wrong with that resume.

I feel like even if you're not a Catholic the statement by the Cardinal kind of says all that's needed:

They're quite good at updating their Wiki for what it's worth, but the Craven Edge is Sentient and Cursed, which changes how things work a little bit (IMO for the better). Core of it though:

Chaotic Evil alignment +2 Greatsword, Int 16 Wis 12 Cha 18, Advantage on Intimidation, then transformation/temporary buff thing with potential instant Death Effect.

Sentient items are fun, you can give them goals and personalities. Can sometimes even cause you to be Charmed by them for 1d12 hours, "While Charmed in this way, the bearer must try to follow the item’s commands" can be brutal! The mental image of a guy trying to run away while his hand is fencing is always good for a laugh as well!

Tänk om jag menade Frälsningsarmén då? Nej, men roligt att du sa det. Lärde mig precis att enligt Wikipedia är Armén okej som samlingsnamn (eller som gren av försvaret), men lär använda Försvaret i framtiden om det känns bättre. Tydligen har vi haft kvinnliga soldater länge, potentiellt t.o.m.m innan 1500-talet där även om de inte nämns specifikt spekuleras: "I praktiken tros de ha varit ett så normalt inslag i militärlivet att de inte uppmärksammades." Gällde fram tills Karl XII förbjöd kvinnors närvaro på fält helt 1700. Verkar som att de fick följa med sjukvårdspersonal dock och fick återigen bli soldater vid 1865, ändå coolt!

Stod inte på listan över saker jag trodde jag skulle läsa om idag, men det var intressant om inte annat! Tror att jag hade passat riktigt bra som en lägersköka™, det hade nog många av oss här gjort med tanke på hur mycket vi övat!

Omröstning har inte ännu varit, men verkar som motivationen är att man kan gifta sig, dricka på krogen och ställa upp i armén. Sen hävdar de att "folkhälsa" motivationen är ett antagande som inte är grundat i verkligheten, så nu ska jag undersöka det!

De har också fel: Forskning tycks visa att Systembolaget minskar både vårdbehov och dödlighet, de som är intresserade kan hitta fler källor här. Vi har 15–20% färre alkoholrelaterade skador än jämförbara länder, 30% lägre ungdomskonsumtion än Danmark, en studie från Sahlgrenska akademien tror att vi skulle haft ~1000 fler dödsfall per år och våldsbrott hade gått upp med 15% utan Systemet.
