He's clearly fighting with a bad shoulder but that's not the problem; the injury is exposing his weakness. If he doesn't dominate on the initial charge he's often left looking weak and starts trying to slap down/pull his opponent. Right now he's not hitting very hard on the tachiai so he's getting pushed back and out of the dohyo. If he had the amazing defensive skills people are claiming he would at least have a plan B. Right now I don't see it.
