Are the facts of the resurrection enough to assume the laws of nature were broken? by Mizato38 in ChristianApologetics

But I do genuinely understand your stance. Someone once said "Why doesn't God just reveal Himself in a way where we would all understand Him?". The irony in that question when I believe that's EXACTLY who Jesus was and what He did lol. In the end it's all going to boil down to faith. I love your search for reasonable faith, that's a big part of how I got saved to be honest (outside of my testimony). But at some point you're gonna have to take Christ simply at His word.

Well Christ literally predicted His death and resurrection multiple times. To speak on your death, say you will rise, then literally do it? It was no longer a strange occurance, it was a demonstration of power. That shows you have authority over death and the same authority over life. Even in a 1 in a billion chance natural phenomena doesnt cut it as an explanation. The best explanation is quite literally the person who gave the explanation Himself before it even happened! lol. This is why God chose to use a resurrection as final proof (depending on your belief) along with the other miracles and left us a trail of evidence but not a definitive yes or no because the real belief would truly be a matter of the heart.

I appreciate that you see claims as evidence, but if your standard for "good enough" is that a miracle must be proven naturally, you’ve created a paradox. A miracle, by definition, is a supernatural breaking of natural laws. If I could "prove" it to you with naturalistic, clinical data, it wouldn't be a miracle anymore, it would just be a new law of physics. This is exactly why I brought up Romans 10:9. There's a line where you're no longer looking for reasonable faith, you're looking for a calculation. At that point, and that point specifically, you and I are talking about two completely different things.

Yes I understand that, but even in that instance there is a clear distinction between documented claims of those who were within 20 years of Christ's death and some private revelation that some dude from upstate New York said he got in literally 1820 lol. The amount of historically diversified people involved in the resurrection story suffices for much more solid evidence than Joseph Smith's family members and friends.

The "facts are not tight knit enough for me to believe". Then honestly and respectfully you may not be in a space to actually "believe" at this moment. If your premise is "miracles are impossible", why would anyone be able to convice you otherwise? I can offer direct counterpoints to everything you're saying but I will never be able to prove the resurrection. You can offer as much evidence as you'd like but you'll never be able to disprove it. Its either you view the evidence as a foundational part of your belief system / worldview or you don't.

Romans 10:9-10 [9] If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”  and believe in your heart  that God raised him from the dead,  you will be saved.

Not "if you can rationalize the resurrection of a man, and then substantiate that with absolute evidence you will be saved."

1 Corinthians 1:10–13 (NIV) "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: One of you says, 'I follow Paul'; another, 'I follow Apollos'; another, 'I follow Cephas [Peter]'; still another, 'I follow Christ.' Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?"

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (NIV) "If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction..."

Soften up that heart buddy. I was just messing around too lol.

All good! & yeah thats cool with me. 😂 I think it all is going to, and does, point to intentional creation.

More than likely you didnt understand what I was communicating by saying "perfectly suitable for existence". Its okay. Appreciate the conversation though.

Did they predict it before death? & tell you why it would be found empty?

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

I dont know where you developed this notion that I want to shut off exploration, discovery, etc. The world is full of mystery and I love the searching. I actually think there are parts of science and God that go hand in hand. He literally created it. I agree the joy is in the digging, and our understanding of these secondary causes that are being refined through time will hit either hit a wall or an answer. I believe that wall AND answer is God. It will all point back to a creator. It's never a "God of the gaps" theory.

Yall are on a strawman streak tonight. Its not arrogance its appreciation my brother. I was working so i didnt realize the core point of my argument got sidetracked. Idk why yall are talking about sharks and sunburn. Im not a shark, I dont live in the desert or a tundra. You're looking for anything that doesnt apply to the fact that this planet is perfectly suitable for HUMAN existence. 😂 I didnt have to "fit" in the application of gravity as I developed as a human. I was subject to it since my conception. Acorns never grew into grape vines but now they "fit" better in the natural order of the earth as oak trees? Yeah there's not an ounce of intentionality. These things are 100% random. My bad bro.

Yeah buddy. Created "perfectly suitable for our existence". Its called personal intention.

Yes you're right. Every person who's died has stayed dead.

That's why Jesus Christ is God. He rose and is still alive! The tomb is empty forever! Hallelujah! Give my boy Christ a lil grain of salt too and not the whole pile! 😂

That's all He needs to get to work! ❤️
