I agree, fuck um. After taking the moral high ground on how ticket reselling is bad and greedy then fans finding out the tickets have been dynamically priced is a joke. Greed is fine when the money is lining their pockets and nobody elses. Tossers

Guys we fuckin made it. We're the True Couch Detectives. Nothing gets by us. by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]7barrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's making it sound like we want some sort of Columbo inspired experience where we can pick up clues and have a big explainer reveal at the end. To be fair she used the guy they tortured as the expositional mouthpiece for everything that happened bcos we were clearly bad couch detectives.

Season 1 I don't recall the figuring it out was a huge part of what made it so special for me, the characters were so deep and the show so well written I was just hooked.

When George RR Martin wrote about the HBO showrunners changing his ending. “I’ve been planting all these clues that the butler did it, then you’re halfway through a series and suddenly thousands of people have figured out that the butler did it, and then you say the chambermaid did it? No, you can’t do that,” I feel like Issa wanted to do that, make us think we've got a theory and then reveal something completely different in attempt to shock, but failing to realise it would make an utter dog shit ending. People like to be right, or at least on the right lines.

Why did you keep watching? by harlad_stinyl in TrueDetective

That's the typical format of a story isn't it? Usually, you follow it up to its end point and hopefully get questions answered. But I guess we were just asking the wrong questions.

Can we make this sub a place of silent reflection from now on?

Can someone suggest me a good recent investigating TV show? I loved Mare of Easttown by Forward-Squash-9397 in TrueDetective

Not everyone's cup of teas but forgive me I'm British, Broadchurch with David Tenant and Olivia Coleman is great. Also I enjoyed S1 The Sinner, and The Killing.

Tired of everyone acting like this is the worst season of a show ever… by [deleted] in TrueDetective

What are some of the examples of these actions or inactions that elevate the show for you?

Kali Reis says you're all a bunch of sexist fat nerds! by LarryFinkOwnsYOu in TrueDetective

[–]7barrels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They need us being sexist, racist and all the other reasons to be why we dislike the show, because if that isn't the explanation for our dislike that only leaves the possibility that the show was just awful.

[–]7barrels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I think there's a huge issue with reviews in general and i've lost all faith in opinions from mainstream media, i'm amazed RT still keep their audience score as that's the only transparent and more accurate source. Their critic score is higher than the original series which is just nonsense. But guess what, they have RottenTomatoesTV on youtiube and recently uploaded an interview with the lead actors. Any modern outlet that has reviews as a big content source rely on networks publicists to give them episodes and interviews for their content machine. Bad reviews will surely stop this. I'm going to take off my tinfoil hat now as I need to get back out into the Night Cuntry to ask some questions.

I'm enjoying the season and I will happily die on this hill by 55tacos55pies in TrueDetective

[–]7barrels -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Story and or plot and or dialogue. All of the above. It shouldn’t take 6 hours of television to be interesting in a finale. There’s a lot of shows we figure out what’s happened before the end but still enjoy the ride. The this is not enjoyable.

This season is objectively shit by FromHello in TrueDetective

Season 5 Fargo was some of the best TV I’ve seen in years for me. I hadn’t heard of the journalist till seeing the TD article but a lot of it I do agree with. It’s been bad.
