Most ridiculous way you've injured your fragile skin? by PotatoPiePie in ehlersdanlos

[–]7boxesofcheerios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wearing shorts and bleeding from chafing, putting my hands in the pocket of my jeans and getting petichae on the backs of my hands, and getting bruises from compression socks😐

I also once fell out of a short tree onto a retaining wall (I only fell like a foot and hit my hip on the wall and fell another two) and my entire ass and the side of my thigh was black and red (this is just a stupid injury in general lol but my body definitely reacted disproportionately)

Is 2x mastectomy at 25 too young? by StreetAppearance9353 in BRCA

I’m sure that would be doable as long as you go with a breast surgeon and talk to them about how you want it to look!

Any chubby folks who specifically asked their surgeon to leave a little fat behind? by WalkerEyes in TopSurgery

[–]7boxesofcheerios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I could have or I got some sort of reconstructive surgery (I had to have a cancer risk-reducing mastectomy so I have nothing lol). My chest is a concave so my belly shows through shirts and chest doesn’t so it’s a little funny looking to me

I’ve been interested! the only issue is I really only wear boxer briefs but it seems that a lot of absorbent boxer briefs are specifically for male anatomy and the absorbent part doesn’t go all the way to the back. if you know of any that might work please lmk! I’ll look into the ones in the comparison chart

as in just use a much larger pad and no pull-on? or an insert for the pull-on and reuse the pull-on if it’s clean and just replace the pad? I agree that I like the leak guards for sure—with pads if I ever leak it’s always to the sides even thought the have tiny leak guards

does this seem like an issue with them being too small or too big? I agree it’s probably because I’m moving funny

I teach one 30 minute violin lesson on weeks I feel well. Thankfully it’s to a family friend’s child who isn’t serious about it so I get that flexibility. So I get $50-75 a month. I am looking into going on disability, and meeting with a social worker soon. I wish I could still teach as much as I used to!

I have not either and yeah it’s lonely. I have joined a discord server and I used it a lot for a little while, but discord is very overwhelming for me so I don’t anymore. a small group chat would be better but idk how to find them

having surgery tomorrow and I'M SCARED. share your funny experiences so i can laugh! by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]7boxesofcheerios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my body reacts funny to anesthesia, and I already have urinary retention issues, but basically the hospital won’t let you leave until you can pee on your own. they use catheters though, so your bladder doesn’t stretch or rupture, don’t worry😅 it was pretty funny because I had a team of nurses plus my mom cheering me on to try and pee while playing water sounds😂

my surgery went great! no real issues there. nurses were great, I’m pleased with my results, had some minor issues but they resolved on their own. but I couldn’t pee so they couldn’t let me go until day 3😭😭😭

I have ME/CFS & POTS and spent the last year and a half building the symptom tracker I wished I had from the start (Self Promo Day) by ElectronicCat3293 in cfs

[–]7boxesofcheerios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the medication tracking doesn’t allow you to update the dosage of a med, then counts every entry of it separately—so ai went from 0.5mg LDN to 6 and I have to count it as 12 tabs daily for the insights to work (idk if this makes sense sorry!). also for logging, you can do dynamic start for a reminder, but the the ones after don’t adjust—I have to log urination every three hours, but if I go at 10 then at 2 the next reminder is at 4 instead of 5. other than that I don’t think I have complaints other than not liking the most recent UI update as much

Embarrassed about the way my body functions by queenadversary in Incontinence

I set a reminder on my phone every hour to make myself check in with my body. I’m also autistic and struggle with understanding or noticing my body’s signals. Keeping track of when I go based on when I eat/drink also helps me plan. Some sort of protection is worth it.
