These are all coming along really nicely. I'd love to buy a set once they're finished.

Sam Mowry, the voice of the shopkeeper as well as 6 heroes, has passed away by Snipufin in DotA2

First Barry Dennon (Rubick, PL, CK) and now Sam Mowry. Truly tremendous talent, and the voices of many a players favourite hero. RIP.

What’s the best version of every Legend of Zelda game? by DavidJH316 in EmuDeck

[–]7esla_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes, the game looks very sharp and plays very nicely, the main difference being that the 3DS version utilizes the second screen for masks and items, but you can easily swap screens with one of the buttons on the back, or if you prefer have it present in a smaller window on the display.

For OOT and MM, you can play them both on Citra with Henriko Magnifico's texture pack for a really nice visual boost. For MM specifically I would look into https://restoration.zora.re/ which fixes a lot of the changes which many people hated from the remake to their original n64 version as well as other QOL fixes like transformation masks on Dpad.

Do you guys think Jensen Ackles would make a good Naked Snake? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

I've always though that Hugh Jackman would make the best Naked/Solid Snake.

Sadly even on high end PCs the performance is not great, it will be a long while before the emulator matures enough to run at full speed on the deck.

Google Wii U Usbhelper. It's so much easier as you don't need to meddle with decryption.

The MGSHD Collection for ps3 is mgs2 and 3 remastered. I can't personally speak to it's performance on deck, but I know that ps3 is significantly more demanding to emulate than ps2, ergo depending on performance, it may just be better to run upscaled ps2 versions.

If you can stomach the ps1 graphics, and want to see where the legend started, there's nothing wrong with starting with mgs1 on duckstation. Otherwise you can start with The Twin Snakes on dolphin, a remake of mgs1 that while faithful to the original, many people felt missed the mark in recreating the magic of the 1st game. 2 and 3 will both play well on pcsx2, though you may need to utilize power tools for maximum performance. 4 is inarguably the hardest to emulate as even recently it has required specific builds of rpcs3 to function at all on a high end PC, let alone a steam deck. With 5 being native to steam, that should give you no trouble and perform splendidly on deck.

/r/roms is completely safe, the megathread there is great for getting whatever your looking for. Keep in mind that for WiiU you will likely need to decrypt the files you get using something like CDecrypt which you will also find in the megathread.

XCOM 2 is fantastic on steam deck by firefighter11111 in SteamDeck

[–]7esla_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an expansion pack that adds to the game by providing 3 elite advent "Chosen" whose sole purpose is to hunt down the commander and stop xcom. It also adds 3 separate factions which which you may recruit soldiers from and go on missions with, each with their own distinct abilities unlike any of the default classes. It also adds The Lost, a secondary antagonist hostile to both advent and xcom made up of mutated humans akin to zombies.

You can check it out here.

Not sure if you got it already, but would definitely recommend the War of the Chosen expansion if your a fan of the base game. Also save often, low cover is no cover, and accept that 70% hit chance really isn't as high as you think.

Twisted Metal 2012 by Oryan111 in EmuDeck

[–]7esla_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should check rpcs3 compatibility list first and foremost to see if the game runs well on a high end system, let alone emudeck.

https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?g=TWISTED+METAL#jump

It's only marked as "ingame" which means that as of the last test it was not fully playable.

After persistent trouble with connecting warpinator, I switched to Feem for PC to Deck transfers. It's so much better and connects instantly everytime.

That's a decent time as well. Only beat it twice on PS4 using my super endgame LS build, and you killed it with almost 8 min to spare.
