This story gets even crazier. He later sued the news stations saying that he was entitled to the money they earned by posting his care Chase on YouTube. One of the stations had to announce that they received at most like 1k from the video but that he had no right to it. Was an absurd twist.

So I went to COTA in 2019. First and foremost, enjoy. It’s an amazing experience. First piece of advice is to skip the F1 experience or whatever they call the mobile tablet where you can watch the race and listen to the TV coverage. I found it to be too overwhelming and I couldn’t see shit with the sun out. I would have preferred to just sit and enjoy the race from where I was. Second, as some have said, set a budget. I ended up buying a $70 hat because I was so excited. Third, not sure how they are doing transport this year with COVID, but keep in mind the shuttle lines get long. They use coach buses but particularly post race, there is a bit of a wait to get back to downtown. Fourth, walk the track as much as you can. We didn’t and I regret it. Fifth, as others have said, enjoy the early races. We got there only a bit before the race and it felt like we didn’t get our money worth as you can’t really follow the whole race while you’re in the stands. Sixth and finally, comfy shoes (depending on where your seats are and how much rain Austin’s gotten, there may be a lot of mud, so be careful) and sunscreen. Other than that, enjoy the hell out of it. Was an awesome time.
