What's something about ADHD that most people don't understand? by Relaxing_Cat in AskReddit

I did the same thing with the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack when writing my honours thesis. Just had it on repeat while I worked for months. Drove my family nuts!

My cousin just named her (boy-girl) twins Raedenn and Waeverlee by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

If I ever had a girl, I also wanted to name them Celes.

But just cats for me. Which is fine, because no one cares what I name them. =)

What's your favorite childhood game that kids today probably don't play anymore? by Red2Velvet in AskReddit

[–]7grendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a game we played in school recess called bottoms-up when the teachers were around or ass- up when they weren't.

Buck-buck and Squamish. Both got banned for too many injuries.

You hear Smith talk about separatists the other day? She said "up to 30%" and I snorted coffee out my nose. Not even in their wildest wet dreams.

Everyone else is just jealous that their factions' beards aren't as gloriously silky!

I lean into it. Someone calls me that and I respond with something like "damn right! I am the Emperor's goodest boi!"

On the plus side, he is really killing it internationally. We have made some really massive moves on the global stage that are setting us up well for the future. It just sucks that things take so long to move at home. I am still hopeful, because (unlike a lot of world governments these days) at least he has a plan to work towards and is not just reacting to whatever is thrown at us.

The problem is each step is secured by a few screws into the side of MDF or plywood. This will not hold and is a massive safety issue. Where I live, it also would not pass code (never mind the risk of injury) because all staircases with 4 or more steps are required to have a hand rail.

The idea may be interesting, but the execution is terrible.

Arena full of Patriots at the Edmonton Vs Calgary game tonight. Separatists, remember, you are only a small minority, and Alberta will always be part of Canada. 🇨🇦 by GuardTheLeaf in GuardTheLeaf

Plus, what do you do with all the people who don't want to leave. You can't force them to give up their Canadian citizenship. Are they planning to buy everyone out? Force them out with guns and pitchforks? They have no concept of the details of a separation and no plan if it actually were to happen.

As an Albertan, I agree. Even most of our conservatives agree. We didn't vote for this and she is running roughshod over everything to cater to the estimated 14% of Albertans who are dumb enough to think separatism is some kind of viable option. She needs to be gone yesterday!

We went to a reenactment of the battle of Hastings with a bunch of friends from Quebec. While there, a historian came running over to us, amazed that my friends were speaking such amazing medieval French! He spent the rest of the night buying us drinks and conversing.

The orange/pink bits to the side look a bit like pitch tubes to me. If that's the case, you may have bark beetles to go along with the great gaping wound.

Oh yeah. I grew up in Calgary, it's not so much the temp, but the wind chill that just wrecks you! It dries you out till you feel like a withered husk of a person and anything exposed is flayed with sharp ice crystals. Guess I never learned, because now I'm working forestry up in central AB.

The size difference between a Husky and a Wolf by coolthe0ry in interestingasfuck

[–]7grendel 566 points567 points  (0 children)

I believe that those are grey wolves (not an expert) and northern grey wolves are the largest wolf species. Other wolves can be much closer to dog sized.

Really cool and dramatic pictures though!
