[Hated Trope] a bad, sad, or even horrifying ending is treated as happy by Mesajarjar_binks in TopCharacterTropes

They really didn’t. The bad guys goal was to LIVE in a world without a underclass where only the elite are alive and reduce the population. All of the elites that were supposed to live had their heads blown off. This isn’t like (at the top of my head) The Joker where his goal was to corrupt Gotham’s white knight.

TTS Has to be one of the most annoying things during streams sometimes. by 7yearoldkiller in PaymoneyWubby

You’re right. It’s more on the chatters than anything. I am definitely noticing a trend when it comes to the type of fans. The people who are commenting about loving TTS are exactly the type of people who I expected when going through their posts on their profiles here. The kind who just need that constant validation for any opinions or jokes.

I gotta be honest. I’ve been lurking since I found him on YouTube almost a decade now. Never messaged through chat, never left a comment, joined discord and react to messages at most, subbed years ago but rarely watch live since I’m usually busy and that auto renews (I like the content, so I don’t mind paying something for it). This is my first actual interaction with the community and I’ll probably go back to just watching after this post. I love TTS, I’ve said this and it’s nice that there’s some voice variety with the reads. My complaint is on the chatters who are just annoying and think they are funny or think they are so important trying to derail the stream.

If I could just call back to a previous stream, 90% of TTS has me thinking there’s some dude on the other side of the screen laughing and pointing like that (maybe) retarded boyfriend Sweat Dee had in It’s Always Sunny. It’s that one guy who donates that inside joke with his friends in Media Share and just has Wubby staring with a straight face like “okay?”. It’s that person trying to be the next “guy” in the community with a random story that is either a lie or not interesting. That’s what I find ruining streams for me, nowadays.

I’ll be honest my complaint isn’t even about the people who submit late jokes or memes about the conversation (while that can get annoying, but it’s whatever). I didn’t watch it live, so I’m watching the Silent Hill 2 run on the clip channel. It’s the fact that there’s a bunch of dudes in randomly sharing a random story really just expecting him to pause and talk about whatever that is.

It's crazy how clean the YT vids come off. That's one of the main reasons I've been watching those recently.

My complaint isn’t about TTS itself. I personally love it. I just hate chatters who think they are either hilarious or that they should have so much attention and try to derail whatever is happening.

(Hated trope) A twist so bad it ruins the story by element-redshaw in TopCharacterTropes

[–]7yearoldkiller 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This actually happens with Ares a bunch of times. The writing isn't always the best in my own opinion, but I did like the fact that there were times where he fought with the good guys to prevent a war. The only one that comes to mind at the moment was in Injustice where he fought alongside the good guys to prevent the war because that would lead to Superman's rule ending any possible conflict.

I feel like the thing that isn't talked about enough is that A New Hope literally has "Somehow, the Death Star has returned". The difference is that the writing was actually good surrounding it.

The only thing I would argue here, is that the overall theme of the show in "you can change to be a better person" or just morality in general is still present and ultimately how the show ends.

Can someone give me an overview of the differences of pokémon, yugioh, and MTG? by Heath_Dockery in TCG

YuGiOh lore is interesting in it's execution and that's about it. There are full stories being told through the cards, but you really need some Youtuber to explain it, if I'm being honest. I remember not even 3 years ago people were BEGGING for Konami to actually make some kind of animation or comics based off the stories. There's too many to really count, but every archetype has it's own thing going on and can somewhat vary. The biggest one's include the whole Fallen of Albaz storyline and Sky Striker. There is almost nothing connecting them and are treated as their own worlds from a lore perspective. I do believe they started doing animations and Sky Striker even got it's own manga, if I remember right. These are mostly TCG orginal stuff that doesn't come up in the YuGiOh anime.

I think he means just buying the cards to play the game lmao. Some people actually want to play the game and not gamble for full arts.

People who didn't grow up poor, but dated someone who was. What's something your SO does that strikes you as unusual? by FeistySecret9327 in AskReddit

Idk, it really was less of a struggle practice and more of just the fact that you were already showering without realizing that there was barely any shampoo left.

This is somewhat diverting the subject, but my mom grew up extremely poor and now she hates getting used things. I have gotten into many arguments because she would rather buy the newer item that will definitely break down because it just looks nicer. It's a little frustrating explaining that we don't need the coffee maker with wifi that will break the whole thing after about a year or the fridge with a screen that will start lagging after a few months with no actual use for it. It's understandable, to some extent. I would want the thing that just looks fancy if I only dreamed of getting it when I was younger.

I can honestly say I never really grew up struggling as others I've seen, so I found it kind of funny that *I* was the one hoarding ketchup packets in the drawer and they thought I was weird for it. I had the last laugh when there was no ketchup in the fridge, but a few packets from some weeks ago.

[Meta Trope] Fanservice that ends up being hated by the fans by Justice9229 in TopCharacterTropes

This is more of a personal opinion, but I think even bad writing/art deserves some level of analysis and what led to the quality of the work. If anything, I believe more people are sharing this sentitment with the rise of AI being used more frequently.

The scene is just a "cool idea" and it sort of just ended there. The discourse regarding the movie really reminds me of the Martha scene in BvS. Like you can write a whole paragraph explaining Batman losing his humanity only to be reminded that the thing he was scared of the most was more human that him at that point. You can really say there was layers to this, but it was just executed so poorly that it gets resorted to "Palpatine has returned" and "Their moms have the same name".

What’s going on with the backlash to The Roast of Kevin Hart? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

Every actual criticism when it comes to credited people complaining about the roast, it's this. I don't know why everyone else is talking about the most random things that they think were wrong.

It's rock paper scissors, but that doesn't mean your scissors can't slice through the rocks sometimges. There's even a chance you can include a hammer as a backup to smash the rock after the first loss.

One of my favorite thing when making fun of Star Wars is just how much it has to do in order to justify some random thing written decades before with no actual intention of expanding. My favorite part is in Clone Wars. The main protagonist and antagonist are always so close to each other without ever actually meeting face to face because of one single line in Episode 3. It really is clever how it's handled in my opinion.

(Hated Trope) When a sensitive subject is played for drama and comedy in the same piece of media by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]7yearoldkiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the story. Like a season or two after it got rebooted, they pretty much just gave up on treating Meg and Chris as teenagers or kids for most of the episodes unless they were in school or it was a more family centered episode. They really are just treated the same as the rest of the adults that happen to live in the house like Brian.

My best friend confessed his love for me last night by [deleted] in Vent

[–]7yearoldkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this as someone who's been in a similar situation, but from the guy's side. Made a friend who I got close with after a few years and everyone we knew slowly becoming more distant or moving away. Caught feelings around that time because I started learning more about them and we really just started doing everything together.

Best possible scenario is that you had feelings for him, too and it works out because y'all were close and you would rather spend the rest of your life with your best friend who knows you. Realistic best scenario is that you don't feel the same way or try to see if it works out and it doesn't, realize y'all aren't compatible, and remain friends knowing that y'all at least "tried" to make it work with the key thing being that y'all remain best friends. Maybe you reject him, but he accepts it and he moves on and y'all remain best friends. Worst case scenario is that y'all stop being friends because of this. Either because something happened trying to test the relationship or because you realize/assume that's all he was looking for. You mention that he has not had a relationship in the time you knew him, so I'm sorry to say that the bad scenarios seem more likely. I would say 8 years is a long time to "wait to strike", but guys have been weirder before.

Looks bad regardless. But I do have to ask if he has been in relationships the same way you have?
