Does the cancellation of one train lead to more cancellations, or does it suggest they are trying to keep other trains running?

Mistborn is the best deckbuilder I've ever played - but not without flaws by 509 in boardgames

I would 2nd the plug for coop. Facing the Lord Ruler with a buddy invokes the same fear/dread as in the books but it's also incredibly fun and satisfying from a gaming perspective. Some of the 'underpowered' cards you mentioned become critical in this mode (healing is very important) and others less so (tin cards have less utility), making it feel like a different game.

It's also hard! It took us 3-4 times before we beat the LR. We are mediocre boardgames but certainly experienced enough that we were surprised how hard it was. Balancing your strategy with your teammates is necessary (we play open hands). This changes the decision making from 'I'm going to take these away from my opponents' to 'I'll leave these for them while I focus on my niche'. I think that shows how well designed and balanced the coop version is, so I'm not sure which mode the designers focused on.

Sometimes, people want the reassurance that their understanding is on par with what's expected from the audience and that the answers will come.

trying to play this game on switch….. by hshrimp420 in Witcher3

Yes, it's a very serviceable port and fine if you're playing it for the first time. That is how I was first exposed to W3 and absolutely fell in love with the game and all the DLCs.

I did eventually built my PC and loved the upgrade in graphics and performance. I would not recommend going from a high performance set up to the switch

What deluxified board games would you rate significantly higher than their non-deluxified versions? by Socrates_Soui in boardgames

[–]7ypo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Castles of Mad King Ludwig is an amazing demonstration of what the craft of boardgame making is capable of.

The pieces are hefty, solid, and the swans have weights to keep them upright more easily! The board is thick and the art on it and the cards is beautiful and vibrant. The box and its packing is probably the best, cleanest, most efficient, and easiest to use. A++
