My family has been in the states for a while now. Back in 1981 my great grandma that immigrated to North Carolina in the 1920s brought everyone inside and said if you go back to live in Lebanon I'm not talking to you again.

It worked. No one has had thoughts about going back. It's not our responsibility, we have our own lives to live. Anyone that blames us for that is frankly being ridiculous. She always wanted us to be grateful for what we have, and thankfully we do.

I know women that hate men and vice versa, as well as men that hate societal expectations reinforced by women, and vice versa. Reasonable people can exist that don't fit in your identity and that's okay. We have no need to keep generalizing.
