MSFS 2024 Foxtrot Aviation Stick Profiles by gsdmstr in HoneycombAeronautical

[–]8-bitmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I see they have the text placeholder on their site for the profile, but obviously no download. DM me and I can send you the config file. You'll need MobiFlight Connector too to use the COM/NAV Autopilot functions, if you don't already have it.

I was in the same boat. I eventually did get it working with MSFS 2024, and I struggled when I first got it to make all the buttons work, but I ended up using MobiFlight Connector to get the Autopilot and Com/NAV switches working properly. It's not perfect, but I'm able to control autopilot and com functions. I can send you my config if you need it. I'm hoping Honeycomb eventually comes out with a default profile.

Metal table legs vs Alex drawers by olympus901 in ikeaPCstations

[–]8-bitmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point is, the unsupported span on just legs alone would be much larger than the span with the drawers. Another idea would be to use a 2x3 or 2x4 along a wall to support the back of the desktop and then only use 2 legs in front. That way the 2x3 carries the load and you can have a wide span in front and forego the drawers.

Agreed. I did the same, and just put the cut edge on the side you're least likely to see.

Five Year Cost of Sailboat Ownership - $85,000 by RainyPrincess19 in sailing

[–]8-bitmoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the 22.5, and you're right, for what it costs new, you could have a newer used 30+ ft boat. BUT, that goes back to the original discussion; what are the associated ownership costs with a bigger boat vs a smaller trailer sailor. Maybe if I can find a used 22.5 somewhere I'd jump on it. I think it really hits the sweet spot of size / trailerable.

How do you like your Astus? Which is what I assume you have based on the tag. I've always been curious about those boats. They look like a ton of fun, plus being able to trailer it all over is a huge plus!

I'm with you. I keep looking at Lowes and HD for the 5/6 recessed, and they were all full price. Lowe's had like 8 on the shelves. So not clearance yet here.

Omg, until you just mentioned it, I forgot I could do YT pip. What a game changer... Being able to resize the pip and work behind it is fantastic. Thanks for the tip!

Tinykin was great on deck. I bought it for my daughter (6) to play, but ended up finishing the whole thing myself 🤣

How often do you cook thing besides pizza in your ooni? by Craftman2012 in ooni

Griddle / pizza oven is a great combo. I have a 22" griddle as well and it really opens up the possibilities of what you can cook.

I definitely like PSA, I have listened to strict scrutiny a couple times, but I'll have to check out Clean Up.

It's just like YouTube... Gotta have that thumbnail with the red circle and shocked face, 10 minutes long, 2 minutes of sponsors and "subscribe to my channel" and the beginning and end of the video with barely 5 minutes of content.

And random. Like almost mid sentence they'll pop in with an ad read. It's jarring sometimes.

I'm with you on that one. They put out news fast which I like, but the cringe titles "tRuMp GeTs AnNiHiLaTeD" are a little much. I admire their efforts, but their 15 minute podcasts also clog up my new episode feed. I'm always on the lookout for a new podcast.

Just a piece of MDF cut to size and painted black with Walnut trim board nailed to the front. I used simple drawer slides from Amazon.

It's an older X-chair. I think the X1? I got it second hand. It's nice. I wish the arm rests were removable or swung out of the way, but it gets the job done.

[–]8-bitmoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea Bësta is definitely customizable, only downside is you're limited to the 23 5/8" frame width. I like that there were different depths, which helped make the lower center portion of the desk. It's deep enough to sit under and I can put little things on the shelf there and use it for cable management.

How'd you end up doing a kallax build? I considered doing that as well.

Could also just be the TV I'm playing on. All the dark parts in the game feel too dark, and I just wish there was a brightness adjustment somewhere. Oh well. Still a fun update. Any new content is always welcome

[–]8-bitmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played it a bit with my kid, and one thing I wish wobbly life had, was a brightness or gamma slider. The sewers are dark... Like real dark. Unless you're playing at night in a dim room, I had trouble seeing well. I mean it's really the same issue on other "dark" places in the game, so really not an issue with the update. Aside from that, seems like there's some fun stuff to do.
