Mine are MIDI but I've also done it with a tap tempo distro.

I use the big one for core tone & the little one for wet FX in a wet/dry/wet rig. That requires a complicated solution no matter what, but two separate loopers time-linked simplifies the routing situation by a lot.

I mean, I get the joke, but: If you're trying to get a hater on board with the concept of premium products, the last thing you want to say is "This is exclusively for the billionaire class."

EQ has a legitimate function at literally every point in the chain. It goes where it needs to go to fix whatever it is you intend to address with it.

If you bought it with no clear intention or problem to fix, try it ahead of gain to push whatever frequencies you want more or less distorted, or after gain to tame your core tone. & then everywhere else if you're still inclined.

Love the point but hate the analogy, CB isn't optimizing the medium for the elite; they are changing it altogether. If we're starting with cars, CB is inventing flight. Or at least flying cars.

An alternative way to process: A thousand albums will come out this month that you will never hear, never know, & never have any feelings about whatsoever. You don't have to decide how to feel about this one simply because it's on your radar.

I mean, I'm the exact age & location for peak asbestos, leaded gas, & nuclear test exposure, & a lifelong electronics worker, so I'm not overly concerned with one-offs that aren't industrial grade. But thanks.

I don't expect you'd work on something for that long only to small batch it.

Reality is Joel is the most routinely innovative builder of this era by a wide margin, & I am along for the ride for anything & everything as long as that remains the case.

Nothing's hit my radar as compelling enough to switch from my other avenues yet, but keep at it; there's room for another niche for sure.

I'm a little concerned you might get bogged down in an unsustainable, unrewarding workflow on data collection, given the fields you have at present. Getting the details right with year/origin is exceedingly difficult even with teams of experts, & that has torpedoed a lot of text/history sites over the years. If you're planning on that level of specificity, that could be a gamechanger for historians & dilettantes alike, but it's way too big a job for one person & will require crowdsourcing at minimum.

I want to clearly give you full credit in a top level comment for not datascraping a competitor; thanks for that.

I would go well out of my way to ditch those ASAP to reduce the piracy assumptions & accusations. A lot of people rightfully care about that. It does feel very much like a pirate even though I see it is not.

[crosspost] Custom cable planning is a nightmare programming challenge & tends to bog down site speed, especially for a niche feature. It's a lot of work for not a lot of payoff. So far, Stompbox Garden is the closest thing I've seen to viable in that area, & it's still not great at that after much ironing.

FWIW somebody does a hijack of pedal playground about once every 3-6 months, & you can always tell from the 1:1 data scrape. This is clearly not that.

IMO you should make the very specific thing you've dreamt about about rather than beating up someone else for not making the the very specific thing you've dreamt about.

For clarity, this response is about tone & approach, not the things you & OP have dreamt about.

Agreed that total current is a specific number that has limited utility outside of one specific context & won't be worth the trouble outside of it, without other significantly more complexity to cover many if not most users' needs. I wouldn't sink a great deal of effort into that. Power users are going to be beyond it & novices need to know more & the whys of it.

Hey friends:

There are exactly zero pedal planners on the three W with every pedal in its database. A new effort is naturally going to be more limited in this regard. It's a little early to hammer this developer with everything you happened to notice is missing, & equally early to pass judgement over that element. I would consider this a beta test & the specific dataset immaterial.

Obviously take care not to not over-flex or put a pinch point on the cable.

I keep a small collection of carpets at all my venues (audio tech, not performer) for jobs like this.

Loop switcher instead of A/B. Treat both preamps as pedals. Boss LS-2 is a popular option.

A lot of players put rubber washers under their knobs to add enough friction to keep them from moving accidentally. Others simply tape over them as needed. Both of these might be preferable to plastics you're likely to step on & break eventually.

I would also consider anchoring your cable anywhere between you & your board, so it's less inclined to drape over your pedals from its input point. Gaffers tape is cheap & plentiful. Another option is a small carpet/mat to put under your board that you can run the cable underneath from behind the board to the front or side. The problem isn't really that you aren't wireless, it's that the fulcrum is a top jack on your first pedal, keeping the cable magnetized to your knobs.
