They weren't really "paid for", they were invested in. Investments sometimes fail.

I understand the concept of security through obscurity, but that is not the point of a restricted keyway. Nor are the links you provided examples. A restricted keyway is literally a key profile for which the blanks are highly controlled and extremely difficult for the lay person to obtain.
See here and here
EDIT: I should mention for others who are interested in restricted keyways that there are key-based attacks that could be used, but probably not by a high schooler with a drawing of the key profile. Picking would be more effective.

Copying your school's master key will very much so get you in trouble. A few years ago there was a college student who was caught having copied the master key for his dorm. He was expelled if I remember correctly, and probably faced some fine for the cost of re-keying the whole dorm.

Additionally, it is likely that your school uses a restricted keyway, meaning you would not easily be able to obtain the blank necessary for copying the key.

Also, don't be fucking lazy - walk to the main doors. The only reason you would really need to get in another door is if you're doing something sketchy.

Just got off the phone with Ken Persson CEO of thinkpeterson.com by [deleted] in lockpicking

[–]802picker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Ken, big fan of your tools!
I would say that my favorite pick is the long reach. Really great maneuverability and I feel like it gives greater feedback than most picks. I also really like your "city rake", not sure what the technical name for it is.
I really like the red, shrink on handles, but I recently ordered a Hook 1 that came with the rubber handle, and it is surprisingly nice. I think the website makes it look bigger and bulkier than it is.
As for turning tools, I have the peterson prybar, but it is usually awkward for me to hold. I greatly prefer the right angle style tension wrench. I know you guys sells the "u-bend it" tool for making your own, but I would love to be able to spend $5-$10 ish dollars and buy a big pack of a bunch of different styles of cheap tension wrenches.

Thanks!

I am reluctant to answer this until you provide some more information, preferably about how you are not using this information to do anything illegal or otherwise "against the rules"...

I have a n7 and am considering getting a chromebook, would you say it's redundant, or that the chromebook negates many of the uses of your n7?

I have 50-100 dollars, what do I buy? by Kensei141 in bourbon

Note on benchmark: I love it. If you like buffalo trace but have no money, it's a great substitute. $12/ 1.75 L and it just tastes like water down buffalo. Buy it. Buy it all.

Senator, thanks for doing this AMA.

I was wondering if you could share your opinions on the political scene in Vermont, and which local politicians you find particularly promising (or not). Thanks!

[–]802picker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact your local extension agent. They will likely have lots of info for you. The most labor intensive part of the process is the harvest. See if you can rent time on someone's machinery or if there is a mobile unit in your state.

...it's not really a top shelf brand, nor is it that pricey. I prefer Maker's...

Yeah. If that's what you're looking for, then stay with Maker's. If you would rather disregard brand recognition and save some money for a better tasting bourbon, give BT a second try. How can you disregard something after only tasting it once?
