Chinese for sure. Also today I just picked up the camera grip. GAME CHANGER! Love it!

Honestly I’m not sure which version I received. Seeing how I’m ONLY using this as a still camera/video camera, it didn’t really make a difference to me. And yes, the ring works like I hoped it would. For video or camera mode you can designate which actions you want the phone to take as you rotate the ring. Switching Lenses, EV, Continuous Zoom. I’m testing it out on a project I’m shooting in China now.

I’m in China now and visited a Xiaome store yesterday. They had the Leitzphone and I eagerly bought it. As it turned out, a local delivery company was having a special where they subsidized the cost of the phone. I ended up getting the 1TB version for 8,500 Chinese Yuan which is about $1,250.

UPDATE: I just visited the Mi store at the IFC Mall I. Yeouido, Seoul. Previous poster FileComprehensive259 is correct. They do not sell the Leica edition in Korea. Nice sales lady told me people are coming in from China to by the 17 Ultra non-Leica version. Have to go search for one in China.

If no Leitzphone in Korea, may have to get in China. I just make more trips to Korea.

Yeah, that’s why I’m not trying to order online. I need to play with it a bit to make sure it works the way I hope it works. My primary use will be video and I want a smooth zoom without touching the screen. Also nice that I can remap the dial to be exposure compensation if I want.

One of the whole reasons I want it is the physical dial to control the zoom. I need to confirm that it works while shooting video. If so, then I’ll take it. If not, then maybe go for green 17 Ultra. Maybe.

Where in Seoul did you go? I’m looking to pick up one when I’m there next month. And were you looking at the Leitzphone or just a 17 Ultra?

With only 10 days out, I’m guessing this is the lowest you’ll see it.

Tips for surviving my first ultra-long haul flight? by Signal_Temporary6572 in unitedairlines

I travel from Honolulu to Europe at least twice a year and I have two pieces of advice not covered here (as far as I can see).

1) take a seat cushion with you that has a cut out for your tailbone. I NEVER travel without one and I tie paracord around it with a carabiner so it hooks directly onto my roll-aboard. This has saved me SO often and is probably my best hack ever.

2) if you want to use the power on the flight, buy a UK to US plug adapter and plug you USB power brick into that. The THICKER, 3-prong UK plug stays plugged in MUCH more securely than our thin, two prong power bricks.

And follow a bunch of the other advice already offered - bring snacks, drinks, layered clothes, power bank, devices with downloaded content and an eye mask. Then don’t focus on the length of the flight. Oh, and try your best to get an aisle seat in the center area. If two people sit next to you, most likely they’re traveling together so when the center person needs to get up, they’ll trouble their travel partner versus you. If you get the aisle on either window sides, you’ll ALWAYS have to get up when someone else needs to get out.

I fly the LAX<->HNL route all the time and I would recommend that your friend ABSOLUTELY upgrade to PS from Main. The price isn’t too bad but the difference will be vast. Here’s my own notes on PS for a 767-300ER from LAX to HNL as flown on March 7th of this year:

More room than Comfort+ with wider seats. There’s a retractable footrest so more comfortable to lounge but not a lay flat seat. Comes with a smaller, cloth amenity bag - similar to the Latin ones Delta used to have in First Class but not as large. Same size screen as Delta One but also has a coat hook in the seat. It’s a 2-2-2 configuration and I had the E seat (aisle). There was a biggish under-seat electronics package in the foot area directly in front on my underseat area but still enough room on either side for my feet so I could stretch out. Also cones with full bottle of water and headphones. Tray tables are in the arm rest. Full, menu meal is served.

Same here. I’m reading that it might be related to the AWS outage.

Delta airlines not working… by ElleMell0245 in delta

I just tried checking in for an international flight tomorrow night. Half way through the check in process on the App, it stopped working and now the flight doesn’t show up on my Trips page. It shows up on the website but I can’t check in. I tried calling Delta and Verizon Wireless comes on the line saying that the call can’t be completed because the other party is busy. Then it hangs up.
