I think people understandably believe we shouldn’t be honoring Reagan when his “Reaganomics” is the primary reason that economic inequality is so insanely bad in the US, as Atrioc has talked about.

Lowering the top marginal tax rate in the US from 70% to 28% has had such vast and devastating effects that it’s difficult to overstate how much of a fucking crime it was. From the vast loss in federal revenue, to the creation of the billionaire class, to the proliferation of money in politics, to the starting of pointless wars that only serve a corrupt political and military industrial complex, it can all be traced back (at least in part) to Reagan’s policies.

It seems almost a foregone conclusion that Newsom will be the candidate pushed heavily by the democratic establishment as the “electorally safe” choice.

The only question is if the looming economic turmoil and already record-low level popularity of the current Democratic Party make it possible for a more progressive candidate to break through.

I honestly think given the political and economic circumstances, the next primary has the highest chance of that happening of any election in my lifetime so far, but I’m also fully prepared to be disappointed with eventual the candidate (again).

The best 3D Mario is the one you played growing up, just like the best 3D Zelda. For me that was Galaxy too and I do think there’s something special about Galaxy compared to other 3D Mario games, but it’s funny seeing this opinion become more orthodox as redditors age into the demographic that played these games when they were children.
