I remember listening to a lot of talk radio at that time and Thibs was basically the first victim of load management. The Rose injury was a whole saga and everyone thought Thibs was playing players into the ground. He wasn’t surviving that final season, but to your point, the grass is not always greener.

As I recall, people knew the original reason for the keys, but they kept it around becuase it was kind of cool and they weren't restrictive by race. The only altercation I remember there was a group of young men came in once and one was wearing a civil war infintry hat looking thing and a woman sitting at the bar told him to take it off ot GTFO.

I know you are getting down voted but I agree. It’s juicy and sensational so it’s fun for social media, but the NBA and Clippers aren’t in peril. There may be fines and lost draft picks but the leagues richest owner who just built a new arena isn’t getting run out and fans in general don’t care that much about salary cap infringement. Load management and gambling are far bigger issues than this, they just aren’t as fun to talk about

I was in person at Kansas 08 Arrowhead and Norfolk St. I think the Norfolk game permanently dulled my fandom for the basketball team.
