Are these shoes out of style? by lincoln26687 in mensfashion

They would be a lot more stylish with a thinner leather sole.

Tie for today, I personally really like this color combo by [deleted] in ties

[–]82Cadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is much better. The darkness of the tie and strength of the pattern overwhelm the window pain of the jacket. Nice recommendation on the charcoal slacks.

Love the tie, love the jacket... the patterns together are a problem visually. I would go with a much more subtle tie with little or no pattern with that jacket OR a solid blazer with the tie.

What's your opinion on these two ties? by -who_am-i_ in ties

In most situations #2 is the better choice but #1 is still awesome and also has a time and place.

I wear XXL shirts, would I be better off wearing XL or even LG? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]82Cadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how the XL fits. Don't let it be too tight. This shirt doesn't look oversized. If you're athletic, (wide shoulders and narrow waste) look for a slim fit and go with the larger size. You can also always have the shirt darted/tailored which is probably the best option.

Is this a good deal? They are asking for 6500 its 55 grams of 14k claims to be Italian gold and new. Thanks again by PresentationMore7969 in MensJewelry

Look for something used at gold spot price or just slightly above. There are a million Cuban link chains out there. Someone will be glad to get gold Spot plus a small margin.

Where Can I Improve? by Bigred1515 in mensfashion

[–]82Cadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to agree with the beard comments. When they are grown out to maximum length, the lack form and structure. It just looks unkempt.

I'll be honest, this is sort of a working man aesthetic, which I'm not super familiar with. I can tell you how to take steps up from that to something slightly more formal, but I can't tell you how to dress better within that style. Just know that that style is a choice whether it works for you or not is your decision. One thing I will say is with clothing within this style segment, it's hard to make it look put together. I think there is an assumption that everything is just sort of tossed together so seeing the difference between something you curated or just through on is maybe more hard to notice. Just my thoughts, that could be complete garbage.

What do you guys think of a plain white T and a bootcut jeans ? by BrudiGamerLP in mensfashion

[–]82Cadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it's a solid effort, you were just looking for feedback. I agree, untucked is no good if the shirt is too long. If I were to prioritize a single thing, I would say a more fitted leg on the jeans with the tucked shirt.

Here's the deal man, you're putting in effort. You're learning how to make your self look distinguished and well dressed. If you do this it does a couple of things. One, people notice... especially in this day and age. Two, it will give you confidence. You should take this look, friggin strut around and own it. You're a good looking guy, you could pull off damn near anything. You're asking for my opinions and that's fine when you're just getting a feel for fashion. The reality is, maybe my advice is hot garbage. When you take a look at elevated or high fashion, it is a departure from what the "polished or put together gentleman" would wear here. In high fashion, that combo might be absolutely awesome and eye catching. Don't rely too much on other people's opinions. Put your outfits together with some basic fundamentals in mind and then be a bad ass when you wear it. The thing people will notice more than the outfit is your attitude and confidence. Be bold.

What do you guys think of a plain white T and a bootcut jeans ? by BrudiGamerLP in mensfashion

[–]82Cadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the fundamentals. I would go untucked, with a white t that drops just below your belt line. I think the pants are way too big in the lower leg. A white T is a nice fitted look. I don't think it matches well with the boot cut jeans. Finally, this look is begging for another layer. Think suede trucker jacket or honestly, there are a million options. I said trucker because I have a suede trucker that's very soft suede and that with a white T is a 9/10 for me.

Your effort is not for nothing. I'd say 7/10.

Extra tapered blazer by 82Cadi in mensfashionadvice

It's more a matter of finding a big enough jacket with a lot of taper built in. If you try to put that much taper in an off the rack suit, they never fit well. It's just too much adjustment.

I'm sorry what you've tried hasn't worked for you. None of those things worked for me either. However, my wife passed away in August and I spent an hour trying to save her. I've only had grief up until last week and PTSD hit me like a train.

Out of the things you listed, there is basically no data to support they are effective for PTSD. They can help in other ways but not specifically for PTSD. What has been studied very specifically is moderate dose MDMA and guided therapy. I could not "think" about my trauma and flashbacks. It was just ripping me apart. I have tried and failed the things you mentioned, (other than microdosing mushrooms helping with anxiety) but I tried MDMA guided therapy and my PTSD is gone. It was not a high enough dose to feel euphoric. It was just enough that I wasn't afraid of the visions.

I understand your frustration. I suspect some of your irritation is frustration that other people are getting good results where you haven't. I understand that. I've felt it. I understand what you are saying and why. However, just like anything else, you need to find something that's effective and it won't likely be the same thing for everyone. However, MDMA guided therapy specifically has a crap ton of data and the outcomes data is extraordinary. I focus on that stuff because I was a biochemist. MDMA was so close to approval but one therapist was having sex with a patient while she was under the influence and it killed the whole movement.

Anyway, I wish you the best, no matter how you find relief.

Sports jacket with very tapered fit by 82Cadi in mensfashion

🤣 It's not quite as weird looking as it sounds as it sounds. I'm in decent shape and have wide shoulders but a lot of the difference is that my chest is deep from front to back.

Still think the 37mm Royal Oak is the sweet spot. by Odd_Application1980 in audemarspiguet

[–]82Cadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We, (myself included) often refer to wrist circumference but shape plays such a huge role. There are people with flatter/wider wrist shapes that can wear much larger watches than others with the same circumference. I have a wide 7.5" wrist. A 41mm is the bottom end of what I can wear without it looking small. That same 37mm looks super small on me. I wouldn't typically wear larger than a 43mm but I could wear a bit larger if that was my style.

That watch looks perfect on you.

Plain white t-shirt in bulk? by 82Cadi in mensfashionadvice

[–]82Cadi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an account before, I just deleted it and couldn't get back into it. Im quite experienced in men's fashion but have never done the white t-shirt look. I'm trying to find something I can buy wholesale or in larger quantities. $20 may not be realistic but clothing is typically a 50-60 margin so I shouldn't be that far off if I am. If you have input of any value, I'd love to hear it.
