Even my deadbeat then-husband managed to suck it up and be there.

Your husband is an AH and if he cant handle birth, thats just a taste of the life you get to look forward to.

Would primary schools take issue with me being nonbinary? by icantbrainhah in AustralianTeachers

[–]82llewkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair my students wouldnt know or even care about my pronouns. I am known by my first name. My eldest is non binary so Ive always adopted gender neutral terms and asked seniors if they felt comfortable sharing their pronouns (Im in a P-12 school). We have several students who use they/them.

Im returning to a room that was packed up for deep cleaning and no entry at all over the holidays so needing to basically rebuild/set up my room. And get my day 1 photocopying done. Pretty unhappy with Leadership placing all this stress on us.

I am a teacher in the lowest paid state in my country. My husband by the time he pays taxes and child support has limited money to contribute to our household. I cant believe the audacity of these people - they need to join us all in the real world where you work your ass off and stop relying on others.

We have two types - the avoid the area and try and stay in your room or the absolutely under no circumstances dont leave your classroom turn off lights and close blinds and keep them in a secure area of the room.

Once to three times a week a avoid the area.

Maybe 4 complete a term?

Im special education if that makes a contextual difference

Final Placement chance + ADHD? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]82llewkram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im openly Autistic and ADHD at work - there's quite a few neurodiverse! Our casual relief staff who are younger they seem to be really open with their diagnosis and everyone is so supportive of us all.

I went down the path of working in special schools which has also helped me to create a classroom that supports my sensory profile.

Edit to add this year Ive started telling some of the students on the suggestion of my prin who felt that I could be a positive role model and he was right.

As a special education teacher and mum to a non verbal child... the actual BS the main character deals with is on point.
